HIGHS IN THE MID 20S.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Monday afternoon<\/p>\n<p>Update&#8230;.Both Westbound and Eastbound Lanes of I-94 between Jamestown and Valley City Have reopened.<\/p>\n<p>A \u00a0jackknifed semi has been removed from ND highway 46, (4 miles east of the Junction of Hwy 281 southeast of Jamestown) and it is now open to traffic.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE MON 6-PM<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND\u00a0 (KCSi-T.V. News Feb 18, 2013)\u00a0 &#8212;\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports on Monday, at about 8: 26 a.m.,\u00a0at mile marker 265, three miles east of Jamestown,\u00a0a series of about three crashes resulted in a ten vechile pileup, which included six commercial vehicles, that closed I-94 for about five hours, to allow the scene to be investigated and ckean up.<\/p>\n<p>Extremely high wind, blowing snow, drifting and very icy roads, caused eastbound traffic to either slow or stop.<\/p>\n<p>Once this occurred rear end collisions and vehicles driving into the\u00a0 median and ditch began; two vehicles intentionally drove into the south ditch to avoid the massive wreck, totaling 12 vehicles, requiring towing.<\/p>\n<p>The last vehicle involved in the incident occurred about 2 hours after I-94 had been closed, when an eastbound Illinios vehicle drove around the close barricade in Jamestown\u00a0 and collided with a wrecked semi that remained in the passing lane.<\/p>\n<p>That vehicle was totaled, however, neither occupant was transported for injuries.<\/p>\n<p>A total of five individuals\u00a0 transported by Jamestown Ambulance Service, to Jamestown Regional Medical Center were treated and released with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p>Also, \u00a0North Dakota Highway 46, was closed for about two hours Monday while two jackknifed semis were removed about 4 miles east of Highway 281.<\/p>\n<p>Early Monday evening, eastbound I-94 was again shutdown for about 45 minutes while a jackknifed semi blocking both eastbound lanes were removed.<\/p>\n<p>Assisting the NDHP were the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reportedearlier, Monday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Feb 18, 2013) &#8212; The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) temporarily closed eastbound and westbound lanes on I-94 from Jamestown to Valley City due to a traffic incident 3 miles east of Jamestown at mile marker 265, TO EXIT 292, that occurred about 8:30 AM.<\/p>\n<p>The accident started with semi losing its load and ending up in a ditch in the eastbound lanes.<\/p>\n<p>Ambulances and wreckers were initially called to the scene, along with law enforcement agencies of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/p>\n<p>There was zero visibility with snow and blowing snow, Monday morning, with several accidents during the morning hours.<\/p>\n<p>Many vehicles were reported in the ditches on the Interstate and other roadways in the Stutsman County area.<\/p>\n<p>NDDOT Monday morning also closed I-29 from Grand Forks to the Canadian Border due to blowing snow and drifting at interchanges, creating zero visibility and hazardous driving conditions.<\/p>\n<p>A Travel Alert was changed to No travel Monday afternoon, for the cities of Valley City, Jamestown, Edgeley and surrounding areas due to high winds causing reduced visibility and areas of scattered ice.<\/p>\n<p>More information on the accident as it becomes available.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Feb 18, 2013) &#8212; On Monday, the National Weather Service placed many areas of the state in various winter weather warnings or advisories.<\/p>\n<p>By 9-a.m., the Winter Weather advisory for the Valley City area was upgraded to a Blizzard Warning expected to be in effect until 6-p.m., Monday, due to white out conditions in strong wind.<\/p>\n<p>Other cities in the Blizzard Warning included Bottineau, Rolla, Towner, Rugby, McClusky, Harvey and Carrington.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown area\u00a0was in a \u00a0Winter Weather Advisory, expected to last until 6-p.m., Monday with blowing and drifting snow, cutting visibility to a half mile at times.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0 local sports&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The fields and opening round matchups have been announced for the Association of Independent Institutions (AII) Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Basketball Championships which get underway Friday at the Jamestown Civic Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, Ashford (Iowa), Jamestown College, Johnson &amp; Wales (Colo.), Mayville State, Rochester (Mich.), and Valley City State will play for the two automatic qualifying spots in the NAIA National Tournament at Sioux City, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>On the men\u2019s side, Ashford, Dakota State, Jamestown College, Northern New Mexico, Rochester, and Valley City State will play for the two automatic qualifying spots in the NAIA National Tournament at Point Lookout, Mo.<\/p>\n<p>General admission seating is $10 per day ($5 for students and seniors). (AP) &#8211; A 59-year-old North Dakota man has died after his snowmobile crashed near Horseshoe Lake.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the man, from Michigan, N.D., was driving westbound on Horseshoe Lake when he hit a grade near Nelson County Road 35 about 5:40 p.m. Sunday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The snowmobile came to rest on the west side of Horseshoe Lake. The man was taken to Nelson County Hospital with injuries and pronounced dead.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 His name has not been released.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota woman is facing criminal charges in a vehicle-pedestrian accident that killed two people.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sheila Morin has been indicted in federal court with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. She has pleaded not guilty.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Morin was drunk on Oct. 27 when she caused the accident that killed 41-year-old Jennifer Crissler and 30-year-old Lacey Delorme.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trial has been scheduled for April 23.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lawyers in the case were not immediately available for comment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s Senate on Monday approved two anti-abortion bills that would ban the destruction of human embryos and outlaw abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Senators voted 30-17 to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy based on the disputed premise that at that point a fetus can feel pain. The measure is a challenge to the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion up until viability, usually at 22 to 24 weeks.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The embryo measure narrowly passed 24-23. The measure&#8217;s aim is to regulate in vitro fertilization and prohibit intentional destruction of embryos.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The bill also defines a human being as a fertilized egg and requires the state to expand Medicaid coverage to all pregnant women.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Microsoft could expand its Fargo-based campus as early as 2015.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The computer giant&#8217;s local branch is running near 100 percent capacity in its three buildings.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Site leader Don Morton says that with significant growth projected, Microsoft may consider adding two new buildings to the campus.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But Morton would not comment on details of an expansion.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An estimated 1,800 people work at the Microsoft campus now. This is double the number of employees who worked at the Fargo Great Plains Software campus before it was acquired by Microsoft in 2001. The account was apparently hacked, and the company&#8217;s Twitter picture was changed to a McDonald&#8217;s logo. Burger King says it has reached out to Twitter to suspend the account.
