(AP) \u2014 Grand Forks residents have overwhelming approved a sales tax increase.<\/p>\n<p>WDAZ-TV reports that unofficial results from Tuesday&#8217;s election show more than 5,000 people voted, and nearly three-fourths of them favored an increase.<\/p>\n<p>The city sales tax will go from 1.75 percent to 2.25 percent. The additional money will help fund water and road projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MINOT, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Trinity Health has received approval from the Ward County Commission to issue up to $380 million in bonds to finance a new hospital and medical park in southwest Minot.<\/p>\n<p>Trinity President and CEO John Kutch says the money will be used in combination with operating funds and private philanthropy to finance construction of the health care complex.<\/p>\n<p>The County Commission in August also approved up to $63 million for Trinity Health to refinance existing long-term debt at a lower interest rate, and to cover preliminary construction costs.<\/p>\n<p>The Minot Daily News reports that Trinity Health hopes to issue bonds before the end of the year and start construction in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BOISE, Idaho (AP) \u2014 Federal officials have released their latest analysis on proposed routes for two high-voltage transmission lines in southwestern Idaho intended to modernize the Pacific Northwest&#8217;s energy grid.<\/p>\n<p>The 183-page draft environmental assessment released by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management late last week covers two segments of the Gateway West project proposed by Idaho Power and Rocky Mountain Power.<\/p>\n<p>The BLM in January approved routes for the two 500-kilovolt transmission lines.<\/p>\n<p>But legislation by Idaho Republican Rep. Mike Simpson signed into law in May by President Donald Trump mandates segments not connected to those routes and altered the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area.<\/p>\n<p>The BLM is now trying to connect remaining portions of the transmission lines with those segments. (AP) \u2014 The Department of Natural Resources says Minnesota hunters registered about the same number of deer during the first two days of the gun season as in the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>The DNR says of the 70,724 deer registered, 57 percent were bucks compared with 67 percent during the first weekend of the hunt last year.<\/p>\n<p>The agency predicts about 200,000 deer will be taken during this year&#8217;s hunt. The total harvest last year was about 173,000. The deer season in most of the state continues through Nov. 12. The northern rifle zone season continues through Nov. 19. But a sheltering police in New York backed by an aggressive daily outreach program succeeds in getting most of the homeless into some kind of shelter for the night.
