News) &#8212; The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office reports, a man was arrested, in connection with a burglary that occurred on Tuesday (Jul 24, 2012) three miles northwest of Eldridge. The incident was reported at 5:49-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Chad Kaiser says, Thomas Hoggarth was arrested on charges of burglary, theft and criminal trespass.<\/p>\n<p>The reports says the Sheriff\u2019s Office and Jamestown Police apprehended the suspect after the resident returned home to find her house has been broken into and burglarized.<\/p>\n<p>She confronted the man who the report says returned most of her property to the driveway from his car, and the then left.<\/p>\n<p>She followed the car and the suspect was located, and taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; A Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Deputy escaped serious injury when his Sheriff\u2019s pickup truck unit, was involved in an accident during a pursuit.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff, Chad Kaiser said, Deputy Damien Hoyt was in pursuit of a car reported stolen in Iowa. The pickup missed a curve about five miles north, and six miles east of Jamestown at about 1:40-a.m., on Thursday July 19, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup landed on its side. Hoyt was checked for injuries and released from the hospital. About $7,600 damage was reported to the Sheriff\u2019s unit.<\/p>\n<p>The two suspects were apprehended later in the day in Barnes County by the Sheriff\u2019s Office there.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; Drag racers, and fans from around the region will turn out for drag racing, on Saturday and Sunday, July 28, and 29, 2012, at Jamestown Regional Airport.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown Drag Racing Association, President, Leon Westerhausen said dragsters from the Dakotas, Minnesota, Montana, and Canada are expected to compete in six classes.<\/p>\n<p>He said the vehicle classes range from everyday street vehicles, to modifieds, with the 16 fastest modifieds in the &#8220;Pro E.T.,&#8221; competing in the &#8220;Quick 16.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A highlight on Saturday is the &#8220;Sheriff\u2019s Race,&#8221; featuring Stutsman County Sheriff, Chad Kaiser, versus Burleigh County Sheriff, Pat Heinert, starting between 12:30 and 1-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The Junior Dragsters are small versions, operated by youth 8- 16 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Also competing will be snowmobiles modified to race on pavement, along with ATVs and motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p>The gates open at 7-a.m. each day, with the time trials starting at 9-a.m., with eliminations starting at 1-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is $8 per person and children under six are admitted free.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle entry fee is $40, or $35 per day if entered both days.<\/p>\n<p>Trophies will be given out to winners in the various classes.<\/p>\n<p>Food vendors will also be on hand.<\/p>\n<p>Westerhausen thanks the major sponsor, Buffalo City Tourism, along with the support of the Jamestown Regional Airport Authority, and the City of Jamestown, along with other sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A farm aid organization that started in North Dakota six years ago is expanding into its fifth state.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Rescue was started by North Dakota farm native Bill Gross, who flies cargo airplanes for UPS.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Rescue organizes volunteers who help injured, ill or disaster-stricken farmers plant and harvest their crops.<\/p>\n<p>The effort began in 2006 with Gross, three other volunteers and not much money. It has since expanded into South Dakota, Montana and Minnesota, and the group is now going into Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Rescue has helped almost 200 farmers, with aid from volunteers from around the country. It&#8217;s supported largely by donations from around the nation &#8211; and by more than 200 business sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>Gross says it&#8217;s &#8220;exciting and inspirational&#8221; to see how Farm Rescue has grown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A 20-year-old man is accused of second-degree<br \/>\nmurder in the death of a North Dakota man last week on the Fort<br \/>\nBerthold Indian Reservation.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Waylon Hicks made his first appearance Wednesday in federal<br \/>\ncourt. Court documents accuse him of stabbing 30-year-old Jeremiah<br \/>\nSage to death Friday after the two left a New Town bar.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hicks was not asked to enter a plea. A preliminary hearing has<br \/>\nnot been scheduled.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An affidavit says Sage offered to give Hicks a ride to his truck<br \/>\nwhen the bar closed. Hicks allegedly told investigators he became<br \/>\nangry after Sage made sexual advances toward him.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The complaint says Hicks stabbed Sage several times in the<br \/>\nchest.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon had no comment. A federal public<br \/>\ndefender was not immediately available for comment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota man is accused of using<br \/>\ncounterfeit money to gamble in bars.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Joshua Jones, of Minot, has been indicted in federal court on a<br \/>\npair of counterfeiting charges. Authorities say he gambled with<br \/>\n$950 in bogus bills at two Minot bars on June 19.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A federal affidavit says police identified Jones at the second<br \/>\nbar after employees at the first bar gave a description that<br \/>\nincluded a swastika tattoo on his neck.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A federal public defender was not available for comment.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 31.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A suspect in an armed robbery in Williston has been arrested in Kansas.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Williston Police Detective Cory Collings says that the 60-year-old man has made an initial court appearance.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say the man had a gun, but he didn&#8217;t point it at anyone when he took an undisclosed amount of money from the bank on July 18th.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Collings says the department is checking to see why the man was in Williston.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Critics of Stark County Sheriff Clarence Tuhy (TOO&#8217;-ee) say he is hostile to co-workers and can&#8217;t get along with people in the county&#8217;s emergency dispatch center.<\/p>\n<p>The Stark County Commission has asked Governor Jack Dalrymple to remove Tuhy from office.<\/p>\n<p>Former state district judge William Hodny (HOD&#8217;-nee) presided at a hearing in Dickinson yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Grand Forks state senator whose district<br \/>\nincludes the University of North Dakota says he&#8217;s dismayed by the<br \/>\nfindings of an audit on student fee spending.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The audit examined how some fees collected by North Dakota State<br \/>\nUniversity and the University of North Dakota are being used.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It found some fee money is being spent for first-class plane<br \/>\ntickets, furniture and other items that aren&#8217;t related to the<br \/>\npurpose of the fees.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Other fees are being used to build up large contingency funds.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Grand Forks Sen. Mac Schneider pushed legislation last year to<br \/>\nrequire North Dakota&#8217;s public colleges to list the fees they<br \/>\ncollect and how they are spent.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Schneider says the Legislature could take up the issue of<br \/>\nquestionable student fee spending if the Board of Higher Education<br \/>\ndoesn&#8217;t.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Officials say visitation at North Dakota&#8217;s<br \/>\nstate parks is strong halfway through the tourist season.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Parks and Recreation Department says just under 400,000<br \/>\npeople visited the state&#8217;s 13 parks during the first half of 2012.<br \/>\nThat was up 20 percent over last year, when flooding was a problem<br \/>\nin several areas of the state.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Parks Director Mark Zimmerman says the visitation so far this<br \/>\nyear is almost on pace with the first half of 2010. (AP) &#8211; A former treasurer of a Fargo roller derby team is facing a felony theft trial.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Louise Jauss is accused of stealing at least $13,000 from the Fargo-Moorhead Derby Girls. She has pleaded not guilty.
