Sheldon Mohr says the pickup was considered totaled.<\/p>\n<p>Fire fighters doused the vehicle with water and disconnected the battery.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not know if the vehicle occupants were injured.<\/p>\n<p>Four city fire units and 20 fire fighters were on the scene about 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Area residents are reminded about another phone scam involving Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>JRMC Marketing and communications manager\u00a0Katie Ryan-Anderson, says several\u00a0 calls\u00a0 have been made to local phone numbers from scammers saying\u00a0 the call\u00a0 originated\u00a0 from JRMC and the individual has won a prize or can qualify for an extravagant vacation.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan-Andersen points out JRMC will never make such a call, and never to give out personal information over the phone unless the caller is known, and to contact Jamestown Police if such calls are received.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Stutsman County Veterans Service Officer David Bratton says, the Jamestown DAV chapter, No. 31 has joined others in North Dakota and Minnesota in donating to support a new parking lot shuttle at the Fargo VA Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>On a recent Wayne Byers Show on CSI Cable 2 David said the shuttle will be used year \u2018round and is especially useful during the winter months.<\/p>\n<p>With other veterans notes, he added the availability of the Veterans Identification Card, available to veterans honorably discharged, showing proof of veterans status.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s in addition to the \u201cV\u201d indicator that can be placed on drivers licenses.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that the VA has released the new disability and pension rates for\u00a0 2018.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Decision Ready Claim Initiative forms are available,\u00a0 to modernize and improve a vets experience with the disability claims process.<\/p>\n<p>A Veterans Information and Resource Fair is set for\u00a0 January\u00a0 25, 2018 from 2-p.m., to 7-p.m., at the Minot VFW Post No. 753.<\/p>\n<p>The Stutsman County Veterans Service Office is located a the LEC in Jamestown, in the lower level.<\/p>\n<p>Call 701-252-9043, open Monday through Friday from 8-a.m., to noon, and 1-p.m., to 5-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WHITE SHIELD, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Authorities have identified an 81-year-old White Shield woman who died in a two-vehicle crash in McLean County.<\/p>\n<p>The Highway Patrol says Blanche White Eagle was driving a pickup truck and failed to yield at a state Highway 1804 intersection west of White Shield about midday Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The semi driver tried unsuccessfully to stop, and his rig collided with the pickup. White Eagle died at the scene. The semi driver wasn&#8217;t injured.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>MANDAN, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A Colorado man faces a felony drug charge after allegedly being caught with 30 pounds of marijuana in North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>The Morton County Sheriff&#8217;s Office says a deputy stopped 29-year-old Jacob Todd, of Loveland, Colorado, for speeding on Wednesday. A police dog indicated there were drugs in the vehicle, and authorities say they found bags of marijuana worth about $30,000 on the street.<\/p>\n<p>Todd faces a drug charge that carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison. He made an initial court appearance Thursday and will enter a plea later. Court documents don&#8217;t list an attorney for him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (STEHN&#8217;-juhm) says a loaded gun may be stored in a vehicle but proper identification must be revealed to law enforcement during a traffic stop.<\/p>\n<p>Stenehjem says in a written opinion issued Thursday that a valid state driver&#8217;s license or other proper identification &#8220;is the equivalent of a valid concealed weapons license&#8221; under North Dakota&#8217;s so-called constitutional carry law.<\/p>\n<p>The law took effect in August and allows law-abiding adults to forgo background checks and classes.<\/p>\n<p>Mandan Republican Rep. Todd Porter and some other GOP lawmakers asked for the opinion, after some law enforcement and prosecutors raised questions if it was legal to have a loaded weapon in a vehicle without a permit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) \u2014 Police say a birthday party attended by young children in Moorhead erupted into a physical fight and an arrest on possible assault charges.<\/p>\n<p>Officers responded to a call about a possible stabbing around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. A man attending the party had been asked to leave, but refused. He grabbed a sharpening tool from a counter. A fight ensued when others tried to detain the man.<\/p>\n<p>KFGO says authorities arrested the 39-year-old man on possible charges of assault and making terroristic threats. Police say there were 10 children at the party, most under the age of 10.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Bismarck is exploring funding options to address the area&#8217;s homeless crisis after the only men&#8217;s shelter in the city closed several months ago.<\/p>\n<p>The Bismarck City Commission directed its budget committee to determine the amount of money needed to secure a shelter for Bismarck-Mandan&#8217;s homeless population.<\/p>\n<p>The Bismarck Tribune reports that Commissioner Josh Askvig says the budget committee should look to offer between $5,000 and $10,000 as support. Commission members are asking for help from the private sector and faith-based communities.<\/p>\n<p>The Ruth Meiers Hospitality House closed its men&#8217;s emergency shelter in Bismarck on Oct. 27.<\/p>\n<p>The United Way has been filling the area&#8217;s emergency housing gap since then. Agency officials say it will cost over $260,000 to manage emergency housing needs through June 2018.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A longtime state senator from Bismarck is retiring.<\/p>\n<p>The Bismarck Tribune reports Sen. Ralph Kilzer announced Wednesday he is retiring after more than 20 years in the Legislature.<\/p>\n<p>The 82-year-old orthopedic surgeon was elected to the state House in 1996 and the state Senate in 1998. Kilzer says he will retire when his term ends in November 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Kilzer represents District 47, which covers northwestern Bismarck and is heavily Republican. Kilzer says he&#8217;s talked to about five people who are interested in the seat.<\/p>\n<p>One contender is Tom Trenbeath (TREN&#8217;-beth), who retired last year as North Dakota&#8217;s chief deputy attorney general. Trenbeath previously served in the state Senate from 2000 to 2006, before joining the attorney general&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<p>As senator, Trenbeath represented District 10, in northeastern North Dakota.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Trinity Health is launching a new air ambulance service in Williston.<\/p>\n<p>The health care provider says it will be an extension of its NorthStar Criticair helicopter and airplane service based in Minot. (AP) \u2014 The <span style=\"color: red;\">Minnesota<\/span> Wild will be without goalie Devan Dubnyk for at least another week because of a lower-body injury that forced him out of a game earlier this week. The team says Dubnyk&#8217;s status is &#8220;week to week.&#8221; Alex Stalock started in his place against Toronto. The Wild have five games in a seven-day stretch starting this weekend. Dubnyk has a 12-8-2 record this season with a 2.69 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Twins&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) \u2014 A person familiar with the negotiations says reliever Fernando Rodney and the <span style=\"color: red;\">Minnesota<\/span> Twins have agreed to a $4.5 million, one-year contract. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because the agreement had not yet been announced. Rodney turns 41 on March 18 and had 39 saves in 45 chances this year for Arizona.
