The group features five college transfers and 15 high school seniors who have committed to continue their education and football careers at VCSU.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always exciting to welcome a new group of young men into our program,\u201d said McCulloch. \u201cOur coaching staff has put in the hours and miles to find student-athletes who fit our culture and are committed to the team. While the true impact of a recruiting class won\u2019t be known for a few seasons, we are eager to see these student-athletes in a Viking uniform this fall.\u201d<\/p>\n
The group of signed student-athletes for the 2018 season includes eight from North Dakota, six from MInnesota, two from Arizona and one each from Texas, Washington, Alaska and Nebraska.<\/p>\n
McCulloch says recruiting is ongoing for the Vikings, and more additions will be announced in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
Valley City State University is a member of the National Association of
\nIntercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and plays in the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference. VCSU is coming off a 5-5 season in 2017. The Vikings have won four conference championships in the last seven seasons and are 33-10 in conference
\nplay since 2011.<\/p>\n
The Vikings will report to fall camp in early August and are scheduled to open the 2018 season Aug. 25 at rival University of Jamestown.<\/p>\n
