KLJ explained the area includes a portion of 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Avenue, Southeast.<\/p>\n<p>Approved a Resolution accepting Final Plans and Specifications for Storm Sewer Improvement District 51 and authorizing Engineer to Advertise for bid. KLJ said the area is near the Winter Show building to improve drainage.<\/p>\n<p>Approved a Resolution accepting Final Plans and Specifications for Sanitary Sewer Improvement District 62 and authorizing Engineer to Advertise for bid. KLJ said the work entail sewer line, re-lining.<\/p>\n<p>Approved a Resolution a pproving\u00a0 the Bid and Awarding Contract for John Deere Water Tower Recoating. KLJ<em> \u00a0<\/em>said the low bid from McGuire was $59,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><b><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">NEW BUSINESS <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Approved a tobacco license for County Bottle Shop Inc. dba The Liquor Locker at 124 Central Avenue South.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Approved a\u00a0 tobacco license for Leevers Foods, Inc. at 148 South Central Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>City Commissioners approved an Application for Property Tax Exemption Improvements to 628 11th Ave SW. City Assessor Hansen said the request is for improvements to the newly named Ridgeview Apartments, which will significantly improve the value.<\/p>\n<p>Approved a Special Alcoholic Beverage Permit for City Lights for a\u00a0 VCSU event at the Barnes County Museum.<\/p>\n<p>Approved transferring property from Valley City to NDDOT, for installation of a box culvert for hillside stabilization and \u00a0drainage near the underpass area.\u00a0 The Commission approves that \u00a0the land be deeded.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CITY ADMINISTRATOR\u2019S REPORT <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>David Schelkoph said starting March 12<sup>th<\/sup> Main Street will be closed for several months for the permanent flood protection project.<\/p>\n<p>KLJ reports detour routes have been established, with public announcements coming soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><b><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">CITY UPDATES &amp; COMMISSION REPORTS <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Bishop thanked city fire fighters and city police for their service to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Carlsrud noted extra worked performed during the recent snow storms by the street deparment for plowing, and with modifications in garbage collections, and at the transfer station.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was shown live on CSi 68 followed by replays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Valley City Commission met in Regular Session Thursday evening at City Hall.\u00a0 All members were present.
