HEBRON, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a semi-tractor collided with a state Transportation Department snowplow on Interstate 94 near Hebron.<\/p>\n
Authorities say both vehicles were eastbound on I-94 when the crash happened Sunday morning. The plow was in the left lane traveling 15 mph when the semi driver came up from behind and lost sight of the plow because of snow fog.<\/p>\n
The semi driver moved into the left lane to pass when he noticed the plow also was in that lane, so he tried to pass on the median shoulder. The semi struck the left rear of the plow and came to rest in the median.<\/p>\n
Everyone was wearing seat belts and no one was hurt. The patrol says the semi driver was cited for careless driving.<\/p>\n

Gardner\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports \u00a0a Minnesota man was arrested following a wrong-way DUI crash early Saturday in Cass County<\/p>\n
The crash occurred at 12:30 a.m. when a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited was southbound in the northbound lane of Interstate 29 near Gardner. \u00a0A northbound Freightliner truck veered in an attempt to avoid the Jeep, but was struck on the right side of the truck and semi-trailer.<\/p>\n
The Freightliner slowed and stopped on the northbound shoulder of the roadway. The Jeep came to rest, obstructing the northbound driving lane.<\/p>\n
The Jeep driver, 20 year old Jared Markeson, Woodbury, Minnesota, was wearing a seat belt and an airbag deployed. The Freightliner driver, 27 year old Jasbir Dhillon, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was wearing a seat belt.<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported in the crash that remains under investigation by the patrol.<\/p>\n

MINOT, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A nonprofit has started efforts to bring a transitional living facility to the city of Minot to serve people with disabilities or other difficulties.<\/p>\n
The Minot Planning Commission recently approved a conditional use permit for the request of Power of the Purse, Inc.<\/p>\n
The Minot Daily News reports that permit is for a house in the southwest part of the city. The house would have five bedrooms and accommodate up to 16 people and would be staffed with a live-in manager.<\/p>\n
The home’s residents also would be required to pay rent and attend school or work.<\/p>\n
Kristen Boen of Power of the Purse says the group home would fill a significant need in the community without having to draw on government funds.<\/p>\n
Mayor Chuck Barney sad a transitional living facility could play an important role in the city’s efforts to combat the opioid crisis by providing people in recovery with a place to transition.<\/p>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer is being greeted by throngs of GOP delegates at the state endorsing convention in Grand Forks, with smiles, handshakes, and well-wishes.<\/p>\n
Cramer is considered Republicans’ best hope of unseating incumbent Democrat Sen. Heidi Heitkamp.<\/p>\n
But his party hasn’t always been happy with him.<\/p>\n
Cramer bypassed the party’s convention in 2012 and challenged the endorsed U.S. House candidate in the primary. The move irked party bosses.<\/p>\n
Now he has almost universal support of the party because his race against Heitkamp is expected to be one of the toughest Senate races in the U.S., with the GOP’s 51-49 majority in question.<\/p>\n
Cramer says, “North Dakotans have a role in shaping the agenda for the country.” But he says support must continue until Election Day.<\/p>\n

GRAND FORKS (AP) The more than 1,600 party faithful on Saturday endorsed state Sen. Kelly Armstrong of Dickinson for U.S. House, though Grafton state Sen. Tom Campbell and former U.S. Marine Tiffany Abentroth have signaled they will continue on to the primary, even though they did not get their party\u2019s endorsement for the seat being vacated by Rep. Kevin Cramer, who is looking to unseat Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp.<\/p>\n
A convention endorsement only guarantees a candidate a spot on the June 12 primary ballot and party support against any challengers.<\/p>\n
Any candidate may file petitions to run in the primary, although such challenges are rare. The most recent exception was in 2014 when former Microsoft executive Doug Burgum defeated North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem in the Republican primary for governor, after party faithful endorsed Stenehjem as their preferred candidate.<\/p>\n
Campbell, a wealthy potato farmer, has dug deep into his own pocket for the past several months to buy TV ads to raise his profile statewide. About three-quarters of the more than $1 million he has raised has come from himself, Federal Election Commission filings show.<\/p>\n
Campbell drew negative headlines last month with the revelation that he was paying convention registration fees for some delegates. The move is permitted by party rules, but some Republicans \u2014 including Armstrong and Abentroth \u2014 said it could be seen as vote buying in an endorsement battle. Though Armstrong had covered registrations for a handful of family members, Campbell had covered more than 60 people, most of whom reimbursed the party for fear their names would be disclosed.<\/p>\n
Any candidate could file petitions to run in the primary. The candidate must win the primary to run in the November general election.<\/p>\n
Delegates endorsed Cramer on Saturday. The Senate race has big stakes for the state and the nation, as Republicans seek to cling to a narrow majority in the chamber.<\/p>\n
Incumbent Attorney General Stenehjem, Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and Public Service Commissioners Randy Christmann and Brian Kroshus are unopposed for the endorsement of Republican delegates.<\/p>\n
A Mandan businessman has won the GOP\u2019s endorsement for secretary of state over the longest-serving Republican official in the North Dakota Capitol. Republican delegates at the GOP convention in Grand Forks on Saturday endorsed Will Gardner over Al Jaeger. Jaeger has served more than two decades in the office that is best known for supervising elections. The former Fargo real estate salesman was first elected in 1992.<\/p>\n
North Dakota Democrats held their convention last month in Grand Forks, endorsing Mac Schneider for Congress, state Rep. Joshua Boschee for secretary of state, state Sen. Jim Dotzenrod for agriculture commissioner, David Thompson for attorney general, Kylie Oversen for tax commissioner, and Casey Buchmann and Jean Brandt for public service commissioners.<\/p>\n

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) \u2014 Patrick Reed was able to conquer a pair of outstanding competitors before donning a green jacket early Sunday evening.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old Texan and Augusta University product closed with a 1-under 71 to win his first Major championship, holding off Rickie Fowler by one stroke at the Masters. Reed pulled ahead of Jordan Spieth (speeth) with an 8-foot birdie on the 14th hole. He stayed in front with a par-saving putt on 17 and closed out the tournament with a two-putt for par for a 15-under total.<\/p>\n
Reed entered the final round with a three-shot lead before losing it while Spieth and Fowler made charges.<\/p>\n
Spieth began the day nine shots behind before turning in an 8-under 64 in one of the greatest final rounds in Masters history. But a disappointing bogey at the last hole gave Reed just enough of a cushion.<\/p>\n
Fowler made quite a run at his first major title, making six birdies over the final 11 holes for a closing 67.<\/p>\n

The Boston Bruins have to settle for a second-place finish in the Atlantic Division following a 4-2 loss to the Panthers. The outcome gives the Tampa Bay Lightning the division crown and the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.<\/p>\n
Frank Vatrano put Florida ahead to stay late in the first period, snapping a 1-1 deadlock. Vatrano also set up Henrik Borgstrom’s goal 82 seconds into the game.<\/p>\n
James Reimer and Roberto Luongo combined to stop 41 shots for the Panthers, who ended up one point behind the Devils for the final Eastern Conference playoff berth despite a season-ending, five-game winning streak.<\/p>\n
David Backes (BAK’-ehs) and David Pastrnak did the scoring for the Bruins, who needed a victory to overtake the Lightning.<\/p>\n

Ohtani retired the Athletics’ first 19 hitters and allowed just one hit over seven innings to pitch the Angels to a 6-1 victory. He struck out 12 and kept Oakland off the bases until Marcus Semien singled in the seventh.<\/p>\n
Ohtani struck out the side twice during the latest feat in a series of early-season superlatives by the 23-year-old Japanese prodigy. He currently has a three-game home run streak and is hitting .389 with seven RBIs in 18 at-bats.<\/p>\n

Reds’ Suarez breaks a thumb<\/p>\n
UNDATED (AP) \u2014 Reds third baseman Eugenio (ay-oo-HAY’-nee-oh) Suarez broke his right thumb after getting hit by a pitch during Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n
Suarez winced after a pitch from Jameson Taillon (TY’-ahn) caught him on the right hand leading off the fourth inning. Suarez was tended to by trainers before taking first base, then was replaced in the bottom of the inning by Cliff Pennington.<\/p>\n
Suarez entered the game as Cincinnati’s RBI leader.<\/p>\n

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) \u2014 Kyle Busch picked up his third career NASCAR Cup win at Texas Motor Speedway and gave Joe Gibbs Racing its first victory of the season by holding off Kevin Harvick at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500.<\/p>\n
Busch stayed ahead of Harvick the final 24 laps following the final restart. Busch led 116 of 334 laps in earning his 44th career victory.<\/p>\n
Busch continues a strong start to a season in which he had finished second three times and third once in the first six races before taking the checkered flag at Fort Worth.<\/p>\n
