{"id":143267,"date":"2018-04-27T14:00:05","date_gmt":"2018-04-27T19:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=143267"},"modified":"2018-04-29T10:50:43","modified_gmt":"2018-04-29T15:50:43","slug":"house-explodes-in-cleveland-sat-morning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=143267","title":{"rendered":"Occupant dies after Cleveland house explosion"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node-body\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/ArensTom.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-143804\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/ArensTom-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>One of the occupants of the home, 55 year old Thomas Arens, passed away on Wednesday April 25, 2018, at Regions Hospital, St. Paul. <a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=143730\">The obituary notice <\/a>is posted at CSiNewsNow.com.<\/p>\n<p>The condition of his son Daniel Arens, who also occupied the home at the time of the explosion\u00a0 is not being released.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the explosion remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>previously:<\/p>\n<p>Cleveland\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 A house explosion Saturday morning at Cleveland, in Stutsman County injured two occupants of the home.\u00a0 Medina Ambulance and the Cleveland Fire Department responded to 605 3rd Avenue North.<\/p>\n<p>WDAY reports the occupants, reported as a\u00a0father and son\u00a0were able to escape the structure.<\/p>\n<p>No immediate word on their injuries.<\/p>\n<p>15 pets were in the home, which received veterinarian \u00a0treatment, in Steele.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 Stutsman County Sheriff&#8217;s Office reports, the call came into Stutsman Dispatch Center in Jamestown about 10:20-a.m., indicating the house had exploded.<\/p>\n<p>Fire fighters were on scene, as crews from Otter Tail Power and Montana Dakota Utilities were called to disconnect the utilities, in an effort to bring the subsequent blaze under control , which took three hours to gain access to shut off the gas supply.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"node-body\">\n<p>Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist reports the suspected cause was a natural gas buildup in the house, as the investigation continues, by the state fire marshal&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<p>The chimney and roof gutter are all that remains.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-sidebar-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"second-mobile-ad\" class=\"mobile-ad\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"p402_premium\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the occupants of the home, 55 year old Thomas Arens, passed away on Wednesday April 25, 2018, at Regions Hospital, St. Paul.
