The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Red Flag Warning<\/strong> for dry fuels, low humidity, and strong winds, which is in effect from noon today to 6 PM CDT this evening. Includes the Valley City area..<\/p>\n

* WINDS…Southwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.<\/p>\n

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…15 to 20 percent.<\/p>\n

* TEMPERATURES…In the mid 80s.<\/p>\n

* IMPACTS…Any grass fire that ignites will have the potential<\/p>\n

to spread rapidly.<\/p>\n

PRECAUTIONARY\/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…<\/p>\n

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions<\/p>\n

are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of<\/p>\n

strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can<\/p>\n

contribute to extreme fire behavior.<\/p>\n

The Fire Danger Rating in Stutsman County is in the High category today.<\/p>\n

Open outdoor fires are prohibited when the fire danger rating is in the High or Extreme category.<\/p>\n

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are possible across
\nsouthwest and south central North Dakota into the James River
\nValley Monday.<\/p>\n

Numerous rain showers and thunderstorms will develop across most
\nof western and central North Dakota late Monday afternoon through
\nthe evening, and continue into the night.<\/p>\n

Rain showers with a few embedded thunderstorms are forecast
\nacross southern North Dakota on Tuesday. Severe weather is not
\nexpected.<\/p>\n

\"\"Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi) \u00a0Police are warning residents regarding a convicted sex offender who has changed his Jamestown address.<\/p>\n

John Sheku Conteh now resides at\u00a0 Buffalo Motel,\u00a0 1530 6th Avenue SW, Apt #18Jamestown, ND<\/p>\n

Conteh has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee, of the North Dakota Attorney General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Conteh is a 37 year old black male, six feet two inches tall weighing 260 pounds with brown eyes, and black hair.<\/p>\n

Offense:\u00a0 Sexual Imposition.<\/p>\n

Conviction Date: \u00a0February 2015, Cass County, ND District Court.<\/p>\n

Disposition: 10 years; first serve 5 years; 127 days credit; 5 years supervised probation.<\/p>\n

Conteh is currently on probation with ND Probation and Parole.<\/p>\n

He is currently on GPS Monitoring.<\/p>\n

Conteh is not wanted by police at this time, and has served the sentence imposed by the court.<\/p>\n

This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault, or intimidate the offender.<\/p>\n

Any attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten these offenders, their families, landlords, or employers will be turned over for prosecution.<\/p>\n

Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Valley City has announced that Citywide Cleanup Week\u00a0 is set for May 7-11.<\/p>\n

The free pickup and disposal is for residential waste only.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Valley City residents are encouraged to clean up, clean off, and clean out their properties.\u00a0 On your regular garbage pickup day,<\/u> put all your garbage, including the extra, out in your regular pick up spot by 7:00 AM, and Valley City Public Works will pick it up.\u00a0 There is no limit on the number of bags, cans, boxes, etc., and no extra charge.<\/p>\n

We will pick up general household garbage, couches, chairs, furniture, branches and wood DO NOT BAG OR BOX BRANCHES.\u00a0<\/strong> Paints and liquids can be disposed of in a dry, hardened form.\u00a0 Cat litter, floor dry or sawdust can be used to absorb the liquid.\u00a0 Empty cans can be left out with garbage. LEFTOVER PAINT WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE LANDFILL DURING CLEAN UP WEEK BUT MUST BE DRIED.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Residents may take their appliances to Truck and Auto Salvage or Valley Recycling Center. There may be a fee for refrigeration or freezing units with Freon.<\/p>\n
