5 mph shifting to the northeast in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Scattered thunderstorms will develop across central North Dakota<\/p>\n

Wednesday afternoon through the early evening.<\/p>\n

Locally heavy rain and dangerous lightning are expected.<\/p>\n

Two rounds of severe weather are possible across western and<\/p>\n

central North Dakota Thursday through Friday night.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For Thursday, the most likely scenario is for severe thunderstorms<\/p>\n

to possibly develop across northwest North Dakota late Thursday<\/p>\n

afternoon or early evening, and possibly move into north central<\/p>\n

North Dakota during the late evening and overnight. Additional<\/p>\n

scattered thunderstorms, possibly strong to severe, may develop<\/p>\n

late Thursday evening and through the night across the southwest<\/p>\n

and south central. Large hail to ping pong ball size, damaging<\/p>\n

winds in excess of 65 mph, heavy rainfall, and dangerous<\/p>\n

lightning are the primary threats.<\/p>\n

A potentially more widespread, and significant severe weather<\/p>\n

event is possible Friday afternoon through Friday night across<\/p>\n

western and central North Dakota. The greatest risk at this time<\/p>\n

appears to be across the central. All hazards are possible<\/p>\n

including potentially very large hail, damaging winds, a few<\/p>\n

tornadoes, and heavy rainfall. Some uncertainty remains, and<\/p>\n

details will be refined as the event approaches.<\/p>\n
