KLJ said residents there have been informed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Approved a Resolution to create Water Main Improvement District No. 99, located along 3<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 7.0pt;\">rd <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Avenue SE.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Approved a Special Alcohol Beverage Event Permit for Boomers Corner Keg on June 17, 2018 for Dakota Riders Hillclimb. City Police Chief Phil Hatcher said the permit is from 12 noon to 8-p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Approved the Annual Gaming Site Authorization for Thundering Saints, Inc. at Boomer\u2019s Corner Keg from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.\u00a0 City Auditor Richter, said this is a renewal and does not include a raffle.<\/p>\n<p>Approved the Annual Gaming Site Authorization for Frank S. Henry VFW Post 2764 at NuBar and VFW Club from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Approved the roof repair for standpipe mixer expenditures by Great Plains Structures in the amount of $32,025.00.\u00a0 City Administrator Schelkoph, said damage to the structure was caused by a high wind.<\/p>\n<p>An insurance claim was filed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Approved a Contract with Jordan Transformer, LLC to Drain, Inspect, and Report the cause of the motor trip in a URS Tap Changer that is attached to a Transformer, in the amount of $14,234.00. City Administrator Schelkoph, said the motor is failing and a leak was discovered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Approved a Contract with Resco to purchase transformers in the amount of $19,093.00.\u00a0 City Administrator Schelkoph, said the request was brought before the Commission as the cost is over $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>The City Commission, considered accepting bid for solid waste transfer contract.\u00a0 City Administrator Schelkoph said five engineering firms gave presentations of proposals to the city.<\/p>\n<p>He said a committee recommends KLJ be the engineer firm of choice.<\/p>\n<p>The City Commission approved the recommendation.\u00a0 Commissioners Bishop and Magnuson voted against<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Commissioner Bishop a member of the committee hearing the presentations voted against the recommendation, saying it was time to give another firm the opportunity to work on a project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Approved was accepting bid for the sale of City Parking Lot south of Hub-Mac more specifically described as Parcel Number 63-3473111, Lots 3-6, Block 31 Original Townsite.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Approved the Technical Support Services Agreement with Barnes County.\u00a0 City Auditor Richter said the rated is $75 per hour, and increase of $25 per hour.<\/p>\n<p>Approved the Technical Support Services Agreement with Barnes County.\u00a0 City Auditor Richter said the rated is $75 per hour, and increase of $25 per hour.<\/p>\n<p>Approved appointing board members for open positions, effective July 1, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>City Auditor Richter said they are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planning &amp; Zoning Commission (2 openings; 5 year term) \u2013 Joe Faure; Mike Schell<\/li>\n<li>Renaissance Zone Board (4 openings; 3 year term) \u2013 Tyler Marthaler; Cindy Schwehr; (formerly held by George Dutton); (formerly held by Doreen Sayler)<\/li>\n<li>Visitors Committee (1 opening; 4 year term) \u2013 Ken Reid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Default\"><b><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">CITY ADMINISTRATOR\u2019S REPORT <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>David Schelkoph said a crack developed on the east side of the old power house building, cause by pile driving with the permanent flood control project.<\/p>\n<p>He thanked the fire department for the successful State Fire Fighters Convention held in Valley City last week.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Comprehensive and Transportation Plan subcommittee has been formed, and that a September public meeting will be held to present the preliminary plan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CITY UPDATES &amp; COMMISSION REPORTS <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>City Auditor Richter said the city budgeting will start soon, and passed along numbers to work with from the state.<\/p>\n<p>She reminded residents that June 12<sup>th<\/sup> is the city elections, where candidates will be elected, as opposed to being nominated.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>City Assessor Hansen a change was noted at the Barnes County Board of Equalization meeting, concerning a parcel.<\/p>\n<p>City Fire Chief Retterath pointed out, a successful outdoor siren test was held Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He thanked everyone involved with making the State Fire Fighter Convention successful, throughout the community.<\/p>\n<p>KLJ updated the permanent flood control project on-going work.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Carlsrud also thanked everyone involved in the state fire fighters convention, and encouraged residents to vote on June 12th.<\/p>\n<p>He said public works has hired summer staff to catch up on the work schedule.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was shown live on CSi Cable 68, followed by replays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Valley City Commission met in Regular Session, Tuesday evening at City Hall.\u00a0 All members were present.
