Seward, Secretary of State under President Lincoln.\u00a0 Abandoned in 1877.<\/p>\n<p>More information posted on line at CSiNewsNow.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (WDAY)\u00a0 The Jamestown Police Department apprehended a 15-year-old Jamestown boy early Saturday morning after he was allegedly caught breaking into vehicles in the Klaus Park area.<\/p>\n<div id=\"second-mobile-ad\" class=\"mobile-ad\">Police Lt.\u00a0 Nick Hardy\u00a0reports, just before 2-a.m., Saturday, \u00a0the Stutsman County\u00a0dispatch received a call of a\u00a0 person looking in the windows of vehicles in the Klaus Park area around 2nd and 3rd Streets Southwest and 6th Avenue Southwest .\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0An officer responded and\u00a0observed the boy.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mobile-ad\">After a foot pursuit\u00a0\u00a0he took the youth into custody.<\/div>\n<div class=\"p402_premium\">\n<div class=\"node-body\">\n<p>Hardy says all of the vehicles the boy allegedly broke into were unlocked.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who\u00a0discovers items missing from their vehicle anywhere in the city should call 252-1000 to report the incident<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Voters in the Stutsman Rural Fire District will vote Tuesday on\u00a0whether or not they approve<a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=144874\"> a five mill property tax levy to fund the construction of a new $2.8 million rural fire station<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The polling place will be at the present rural fire hall at 205 3rd Avenue Northwest in Jamestown, with the polls open Tuesday from 11-a.m., to 7-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible voters live in the City of Spiritwood Lake, plus residents rural the fire district including those in the townships of Ashland,Bloom, Buchanan, Corwin, Deer Lake, Eldridge, Fried, Hidden, Homer, Lenton, Lippert, Midway, Plainview, Sydney, Winfield, Woodbury, and Ypsilanti.<\/p>\n<p>Residence in the City of\u00a0Jamestown are not eligible to vote.<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County auditor\/chief operating officer, Nicole Meland,\u00a0 points out that the rural fire district is its own taxing jurisdiction certifying\u00a0 its own property tax levy, and is able to hold its own elections regarding property taxes.<\/p>\n<p>If approved by voters, Tuesday, the rural fire district\u00a0would apply for a 30-year loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program, which \u00a0determines the mills the district uses each year and the amount, and the five mills would cover the loan payment is for the first year.<\/p>\n<p>A full five additional mills would raise about $180,000 annually and\u00a0 a residential property with a true value of $100,000, a property owner would see an additional $22.27 in taxes in annual taxes if approved by voters, with the estimated annual loan at 3.875 percent, and an annual\u00a0payment of $160,913.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 Jamestown Rural Fire Department has\u00a0 closed to purchase a building at 1209 9th Street, Southeast, in Jamestown from Century link at a cost of\u00a0 $625,000, to enable the rural fire department to keep all of it\u2019s vehicles and equipment at one location, including an addition to the building.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reports a slight drop in\u00a0 Jamestown airline boarding.<\/p>\n<p>In May this year boardings were 1122 compared to 1176 in May of 2017, off four and a half percent.<\/p>\n<p>Through May this year Jamestown Regional Airport had 4983 boardings compared to 5372 through May of last year, down just over seven percent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City\u00a0 (CSi) Stemming from the lack of participation the 2018 Barnes County Relay for Life will not be held.<\/p>\n<p>Co-event coordinator Rad Nicholson says other fundraisers such as Cruise the Valley, and the Father Daughter dance among others will still be held for local fundraising efforts in the fight against cancer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Economic Development Association of North Dakota (EDND) meeting and summer conference will be in Jamestown June 19-21.<\/p>\n<p>85 to 90 North Dakota development professionals will be on hand with information for entrepreneurs, business owners and area residents.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers slated are:\u00a0 Katie Andersen, Kathrine Roth, Rich Garman, Amy Walters, Connie Ova among others.<\/p>\n<p>More information on line at www.ednd.org.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON, D.C. It serves as an in-depth companion to her book last year that guided people to historic buffalo sites.<\/p>\n<p>Berg says her new book is for people who want to &#8220;dig a little deeper into the buffalo story.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It centers on 10 sites throughout western North Dakota and South Dakota that were teeming with bison until 19th century hunters drove the animals close to extinction.<\/p>\n<p>The National Bison Association says North America currently has nearly 400,000 bison, up from only a few hundred in the 1800s.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Police say they&#8217;ve arrested a man for terrorizing after he armed himself with a machete and attempted to attack another man.<\/p>\n<p>Sgt. Jim Van Lith tells KFGO that officers were called to Lindenwood Park about 9 p.m. Sunday because the 25-year-old suspect had gotten into an argument with the victim over money.<\/p>\n<p>Lith says the suspect went to his car, got a machete and chased the victim who fell to the ground and received minor abrasions. The suspect fled after onlookers stopped him from attacking the victim. Police later located and arrested the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 An addiction treatment center based in Bismarck is expanding after seeing the demand for drug and alcohol abuse treatment services double in the past five years.<\/p>\n<p>The Bismarck Tribune reports that Heartview Foundation announced plans this month to add 16 more treatment beds for men and 15 efficiency apartments at the shuttered Ruth Meiers men&#8217;s emergency shelter. The organization bought the 12,000-square-foot shelter for $1 million earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>The facility is expected to open by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota has seen a steady increase in drug overdose deaths from 20 in 2013 to 77 in 2016. Heartview has tried to keep up with demand over the years, including opening a residential facility in Cando in 2015 and starting a methadone treatment program in Bismarck last year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (AP) \u2014 A deputy went into a central Minnesota lake to rescue a woman from her sinking car.<\/p>\n<p>The Douglas County sheriff&#8217;s office says it happened Saturday night in a construction zone on Interstate 94 near Lake Latoka, southwest of Alexandria. The sheriff&#8217;s office says 76-year-old Beverly Toso, of Hoffman, couldn&#8217;t stop in time before she drove off a bridge that&#8217;s being replaced. Her car landed in the lake.<\/p>\n<p>Only a few inches of air were left in her car when Deputy Ben Jarvi arrived. He tied a rope to his waist, went into the water, opened the door and pulled her out.<\/p>\n<p>A Fargo, North Dakota, man who called 911 to report the accident, Kenneth Fletcher, held the rope&#8217;s other end and pulled them to shore.<\/p>\n<p>Toso&#8217;s injuries were not life-threatening.<\/p>\n<div id=\"main\">\n<div class=\"column column-double column-last widget single\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 President Donald Trump is coming to North Dakota\u2019s largest city for a campaign rally.<\/p>\n<p>Trump campaign spokesman Michael Glassner says the event is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 27 at Scheels Arena in Fargo. Glassner says Trump is expected to discuss the summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, as well as the economy and low unemployment rates.<\/p>\n<p>Trump carried North Dakota with 63 percent of the vote in the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>Trump last came to the state in September and spoke outside a Mandan oil refinery.<\/p>\n<p>WDAY reports that tickets are now available online on a first-come, first-serve basis for President Donald Trump\u2019s rally June 27 rally in Fargo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MINOT, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A group is working to bring new life and more people to downtown Minot by using a bit of dark history.<\/p>\n<p>The Minot Daily News reports that the Little Chicago Pub District is made up of seven bars that combine, fun, drinking and history related to when the city became a hotbed of smuggling and debauchery during Prohibition.<\/p>\n<p>Since forming last year, the Pub District has held a variety of pub crawls with different themes. The agent stopped one vehicle and another agent stopped the other. Multiple arrests were made from both vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The third vehicle \u2014 the SUV \u2014 kept going, and a sheriff&#8217;s deputy joined the chase before the fatal crash.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say most of the 14 occupants of the SUV were thrown from the vehicle.
