On Wednesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Stutsman County Fair Board Member Jim Exner \u00a0said, \u00a0Murphy Brothers is back on the midway with 26 rides.<\/p>\n

He says Mega Passes at $50 \u00a0are available from Neighborhood Grocery & Gas and Jetstream Car Wash in Jamestown. The pass will allow for unlimited rides all 4 days of the fair. They will be available until Wednesday only.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Exner pointed out that the fair includes the rodeo, stock car races, 4-H and FFA exhibits, Weiner Dog Races and the concerts all four nights. Performing this year are:<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The annual Jamestown High School summer musical has been set.<\/p>\n

This Thursday and Friday, June 28, and 29, the group will present their production of the musical \u201cThe Addams Family.\u201d Adapted from the comic, TV series and movies, the show provides a different spin on the characters everyone has come to know.<\/p>\n

The play is Co-directed by Mike McIntyre and Cheryl McIntyre, who is providing musical direction.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Cheryl said 24 students are taking part in play, along with behind the scenes support and the pit orchestra made up of students and community members.<\/p>\n

Also joining us on our show was Samara McDermid playing Wednesday Addams, with the character in this production older that her brother, Pugsley, played by Alexis Young, who has to deal with the sister growing up without him.<\/p>\n

Also on our show were Anja McDermid, who plays a dancer and ancestor, and Paris Ndikum (Dee-Kum) who plays Lucas.<\/p>\n

Emma Bennett plays the mother Morticia, who tries to keep the family together through their growing pains.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 An arrest warrant has been issued for a West Fargo woman accused of drowning her baby just after giving birth.<\/p>\n

Court documents say the 36-year-old woman placed the newborn face down in about an inch of water in a bathtub to cause his death. KFGO reports an autopsy at the University of North Dakota Medical School showed the baby was born alive, but died as a result of drowning.<\/p>\n

Authorities say the woman gave birth at a friend’s townhouse in Fargo May 5. The friend found the woman in the bathroom and told her they needed to call 911. Court documents say the woman told her friend she didn’t want to call first responders because she couldn’t afford an ambulance and didn’t want them to see what she had done.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Crime statistics show drug arrests continue to rise in North Dakota.<\/p>\n

The Bismarck Tribune reports that Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem released his office’s figures on the last eight years of crime rates for oil country and statewide on Monday.<\/p>\n

Stenehjem says drug arrests are increasing despite the state’s fairly level crime rate and population. North Dakota’s overall crime rate of about 6,374 per 100,000 people remained relatively unchanged from 2016-2017, a 0.4 percent increase.<\/p>\n

Stenehjem says North Dakota authorities made about 5,100 drug arrests last year, about a 4.6 percent increase from 2016.<\/p>\n

Marijuana accounts for about half the drug arrests, with methamphetamine following second and narcotics third. Stenehjem says authorities are seeing meth “in greater quantities and stronger potency.”<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 President Donald Trump’s stepped-up campaign tour this week is taking him to North Dakota to help a Republican candidate who reluctantly entered a high-stakes Senate race and then questioned the support he was getting from the White House.<\/p>\n

Rep. Kevin Cramer made it clear he was less than happy with Trump’s friendly treatment of Cramer’s opponent, Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, which included her front-row appearance last month when Trump signed a banking bill. Cramer recently called White House Chief of Staff John Kelly asking the campaign to change its approach.<\/p>\n

Cramer told The Associated Press that the hubbub was “more about the White House than me,” but some Republicans believe it’s time for Trump, who’s enormously popular in North Dakota, to take on Heitkamp.<\/p>\n

Trump is scheduled to appear at a rally Wednesday evening in a 6,000-seat Fargo hockey arena in a burst of campaign appearances that has included Nevada, Minnesota and South Carolina. Though he’s certain to talk up Cramer’s candidacy, he may spend the bulk of his time defending his administration’s policies on immigration and trade, or reminiscing about his 36-point victory in North Dakota in 2016.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Cass County authorities are investigating the theft of an estimated $30,000 worth of fireworks from a semitrailer south of Fargo.<\/p>\n

Sheriff’s Sgt. Tim Briggeman tells KFGO radio<\/a> that employees at Memory Fireworks reported the theft Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

There was no immediate word on whether authorities have any suspects.<\/p>\n

Bismarck\u00a0 (Gov. Burgum’s Office)\u00a0 \u2013 North Dakota offers the best quality of life in the country and ranks fourth overall among U.S. states for the second year in a row in U.S. News & World Report\u2019s Best States rankings released Tuesday.<\/p>\n

This is the first year the magazine\u2019s annual rankings have included a quality of life category, and North Dakota topped the list. The state also ranked first in four metrics \u2013 growth of young population, labor force participation rate, low food insecurity and budget balancing \u2013 and ranked second in the infrastructure and fiscal stability categories.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s Game and Fish Department has implemented a no-wake zone on the Missouri and Heart rivers to reduce bank erosion in the Bismarck-Mandan area.<\/p>\n

The river level is expected to remain high through the summer due to higher-than-normal releases from Garrison Dam upstream because of a large amount of runoff in the basin.<\/p>\n

Game and Fish on Tuesday restricted boats and other watercraft within 200 feet of the shoreline to idle speed only on a stretch of the Missouri River from about 23 miles north of Bismarck to about 19 miles south of the city.<\/p>\n

The zone on the Heart River is from the confluence of the Heart and Missouri rivers to the state Highway 6 bridge.<\/p>\n

The penalty for violating the restriction is a $200 fine.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Fargo Theatre officials say they don’t want their iconic marquee used in any campaigns and political ads.<\/p>\n

KFGO radio reports that the theatre is a nonprofit organization and a spokeswoman says it must remain a politically neutral entity and cannot endorse any political candidate, or give that impression.<\/p>\n

Emily Beck, the theatre’s executive director, has requested that all candidates and office holders refrain from using the images without permission. Beck has asked that any misuse be reported to a member of the theatre’s administrative staff.<\/p>\n

It’s not clear what led to Beck’s release about the sign.<\/p>\n

The marquee on Broadway was used as the backdrop by ESPN for its “College GameDay” show in 2013 and 2014.<\/p>\n

Manager Buck Showalter expects his top hurler to spend the minimum time on the DL and return for a July 6 game in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

UNDATED (AP) \u2014 Martin Brodeur (broh-DOOR’) is part of the Hockey Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018.<\/p>\n

Brodeur was elected on his first year of eligibility after smashing NHL records for victories, shutouts and games played. He won three Stanley Cups with the New Jersey Devils, where he spent 20 of his 21 NHL seasons.<\/p>\n

The four-time Vezina (VEH’-zih-nuh) Trophy winner was 688-394-154 with a 2.24 goals-against mark and 124 shutouts.<\/p>\n

Joining Brodeur is former Tampa Bay forward Martin St. Louis (mahr-TAN’ san loo-EE’), who scored 1,033 points in 1,134 games. St. Louis won two scoring titles, captured the Hart Trophy in 2004 and won the Lady Byng Trophy three times in a four-year span.<\/p>\n

Also entering the Hall will be Willie O’Ree, who currently serves as the NHL diversity ambassador. O’Ree became the first league’s black player when he suited up for the Boston Bruins during the 1957-58 season. He played 45 NHL games and was a standout in the Western Hockey League despite being 95 percent blind in his right eye.<\/p>\n

\u2014 The Penguins have re-signed forward Bryan Rust to a four-year deal that runs through the 2021-22 campaign. The 26-year-old Rust set career highs with 26 assists and 38 points in 69 games for Pittsburgh this past season. He was a pivotal member of the Penguins as they won consecutive Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017.<\/p>\n

UNDATED (AP) \u2014 Magic Johnson says he will step down as the Lakers’ president of basketball operations if he can’t persuade an elite free agent to sign with his club within the next two summers.<\/p>\n

Johnson took over the Lakers’ front office in February 2017 and immediately announced his plans to revive the struggling 16-time NBA champion franchise by enticing the game’s best players to join as free agents.<\/p>\n

With Paul George and potentially LeBron James headlining the market this summer, Johnson is leading the Lakers’ efforts to land both players. If those efforts don’t work, Johnson will pursue the large crop of 2019 free agents.<\/p>\n

More than 2,000 children have been separated from their parents in recent weeks and placed in government-contracted shelters.<\/article>\n
