There is a chance of thunderstorms very late Tuesday afternoon and
\nTuesday night. Some will be severe with large hail and damaging winds.<\/p>\n

Severe thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday evening into Tuesday night.
\nStorms are expected to develop over the central Dakotas and move
\nto the east. One can expect hail up to 2 inches in diameter and
\nwind gusts to 70 mph. Locally heavy rain will be possible.<\/p>\n

There is a chance of thunderstorms during the daytime hours
\nWednesday, Independence Day. They are not expected to be severe.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (JRMC)\u00a0 \u2014 The chief executive officer at Jamestown Regional Medical Center says that it\u2019s with very mixed feelings that he leaves JRMC for a new opportunity.<\/p>\n

President & CEO K.C. DeBoer joined JRMC in 2014.<\/p>\n

Since then, both Modern Healthcare and Becker\u2019s Healthcare Review have named JRMC a Best Place to Work in healthcare. Under DeBoer\u2019s leadership, JRMC also expanded the specialties it offers. JRMC added new specialists in podiatry, urology, gynecology and obstetrics, as well as ear, nose and throat in 2015-2017. Those specialists help people receive high-quality care close to home. The hospital is also working to break ground on the JRMC Cancer Center \u2013 the only one of its kind for 100 miles.<\/p>\n

DeBoer begins his role as CEO for Prairie Lakes Healthcare System in Watertown, S.D., in August.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the right choice for me professionally and personally. Living in Watertown brings me closer to both my family and my wife\u2019s family in South Dakota while joining the team at another excellent independent hospital,\u201d DeBoer said. \u201cJRMC is an amazing place with a culture that will carry on, making it the best rural hospital in the country. We will miss Jamestown and I will miss the wonderful staff, physicians and board members I have been privileged to work with at JRMC.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeBoer said he will work with the board to ensure a smooth transition.<\/p>\n

The board has initiated a national search to find a replacement, Ottmar said. In the meantime, it will soon name an interim CEO to lead the organization until a new CEO is in place.<\/p>\n

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Authorities say a man who was out on bond from a drug charge was arrested in northwestern North Dakota after police seized nearly 122 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.Officials with the Northwest Narcotics Task Force say John Mincey, of Minot, was stopped Saturday in Williams County. A search discovered the meth as well as a loaded handgun and $7,000 in cash.Mincey is facing four charges, including possession with intent to distribute and felon in possession of a firearm.Authorities say Mincey is charged in Ward County with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and had an active warrant for his arrest in relation to that case.Court documents do not list an attorney for Mincey.<\/p>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A North Dakota man convicted of drugging a teenager and sexually assaulting her for several months has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say 38-year-old George Robert Lyons gave sleeping pills to a teenage girl once a week under the guise of needing to clean her ears from July 2009 and January 2010. The girl told Grand Forks District Judge John Thelen during a sentencing hearing Monday that all her relationships have been damaged and she is afraid Lyons will retaliate when he’s released from prison.<\/p>\n

WDAY-TV reports that Lyons’ attorney is expected to appeal his conviction. Lyons planned on speaking during Monday’s hearing but became emotional and said he was “at a loss for words.”<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota Oil and Gas Division officials say a tank that overflowed caused a spill of more than 19,000 gallons of brine and more than 3,000 gallons of oil in Renville County.Division officials say Berenergy Corp. reported Monday that the spill occurred Saturday about 2 miles east of Glenburn. The company says the spill was contained within the diking that was done on site and has been recovered.Officials say a state inspector will be on site this week.Brine is a waste byproduct of oil development.<\/article>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 The Trump administration is rescinding Obama-era guidance that encouraged schools to take a person’s race into account to encourage diversity in admissions. The shift would give schools and universities the federal government’s blessing to take a race-neutral approach to the students they consider for admission. That’s according to an administration official who spoke on condition of anonymity since the announcement had not yet been made. A formal announcement was expected later Tuesday.<\/article>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 President Donald Trump has spoken with Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah as he considers options for a Supreme Court opening. The telephone call was first reported by the Deseret News. Lee is the only lawmaker on the list of 25 names Trump says he will use to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. Trump has also interviewed federal appeals judges Raymond Kethledge, Amul Thapar, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett.<\/article>\n

MAE SAI, Thailand (AP) \u2014 Thailand’s leader is thanking the international community for their support and assistance in the search and rescue operation for 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped in a flooded cave in northern Thailand. Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha said Tuesday finding the boys the night before “has created gratitude and happiness for people all over the country.” The boys were located by a team of British divers who worked closely with Thai navy SEALs and teams from around the world.<\/article>\n

LONDON (AP) \u2014 When authorities in Thailand were assembling a group of rescuers to search for a soccer team lost in a flooded cave, one of their first calls went to a retired firefighter and an IT consultant in England. Rick Stanton and John Volanthen were the first to reach the 12 boys and their coach inside the Luang Nang Non Cave in Chiang Rai province.<\/article>\n

BRUSSELS (AP) \u2014 NATO allies are pushing back against U.S. criticism that they are not spending enough on defense, as President Donald Trump ratchets up pressure ahead of a summit next week. After Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula, NATO allies agreed in 2014 to end defense budget cuts, to begin spending more as their economies grew and to move toward a goal of 2 percent of GDP within a decade. Norway, Belgium and Canada say they are moving in the right direction.<\/article>\n
