The number of property crimes (burglary, arson, larceny-theft, and car theft) was factored into the results.<\/p>\n<p>Hazen was listed as the safest city in North Dakota for 2018. Carrington was second, followed by Stanley, New Town, Lincoln, Lisbon, Devils Lake, Wahpeton, Dickinson and Beulah.<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-sidebar-ad\" data-google-query-id=\"CLGDp5f2tdwCFZAXAQod0H8OUg\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/7021\/fcc.forum\/jamestownsun_2__container__\">\n<p>Of the ten safest cities in the Peace Garden State, seven reported less than one violent crime per 1,000 people in 2016. The top two safest cities\u2014Hazen and Carrington\u2014reported zero violent crime. According to the most recent <a href=\"https:\/\/ucr.fbi.gov\/crime-in-the-u.s\/2016\/crime-in-the-u.s.-2016\/cius-2016?kbid=62750&amp;tag=safewicom-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI crime statistics<\/a>, North Dakota experienced twelve murders, but none took place in the cities on our list. Incidents of robbery were also few and far between, with 80% of the state\u2019s ten safest cities citing no crimes of this type.<\/p>\n<p>Violent crime is a top concern when it comes to choosing a safe place to live\u2014but so is property crime, especially burglary. With this is mind, SafeWise\u00a0 discovered that 70% of the state\u2019s safest cities saw fewer than ten burglaries.
