Dry weather with a slow return to normal<\/a> or above normal<\/a><\/p>\n temperatures are expected Thursday, with widely scattered<\/a><\/p>\n thunderstorms Friday through Sunday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jamestown (CSi) \u2014 Golfers and golf enthusiasts are making cancer care in Jamestown a hole in one.<\/p>\n JRMC Foundation Director, Lida Jackson says, \u201cMore than 100 golfers helped raise $28,000 at the Golf FORE Good event on July 20. The proceeds support the construction of the JRMC Cancer Center.\u00a0 I\u2019m always impressed with the golfers and their generosity. And we appreciate the support of the businesses and sponsors who make this possible. When we drive around the course that day and see the sponsor signs we can \u2018feel\u2019 the support for our patients.\u201d<\/p>\n Cancer is the leading cause of death of Stutsman County residents ages 45-84. And in a 60-mile radius of Jamestown, 252 people are diagnosed or die from cancer each year. Currently, these residents travel more than 100 miles for chemotherapy and radiation. A cancer center at JRMC would change that, Jackson said.<\/p>\n In addition to raising money for the JRMC Cancer Center, golfers also raised nearly $300 for the Continue Aiding Recipients Affected by Cancer Evermore (C.A.R.E.) Endowment Fund. The CARE fund, established by Barb and Curt Togstad, provides gas cards to patients at JRMC.<\/p>\n \u201cGolf \u201cFORE\u201d Good is always a great time for a great cause.
