Jamestown Jimmies defeated Presentation in volleyball,\u00a0 26-24, 25-8, 25-13<\/p>\n
Jamestotwn\u00a0 (uj.edu)\u00a0 If Wednesday’s first set was any indication, the University of Jamestown volleyball team was going to have its hands full against Presentation (S.D.) College.<\/p>\n
The Jimmies took a back-and-forth first set by a score of 26-24, but found another level in set number two. UJ won 25-8 to go up 2-0 in the match, then finished off the Saints 25-13 to complete the sweep at Harold Newman Arena.<\/p>\n
Jamestown (15-4) was led by Ellie Michaletz<\/a> (SO\/Aitkin, Minn.) and Isabel Wedell<\/a> (JR\/Ellendale, N.D.), who had eight kills each. Kori Buchanan<\/a> (SR\/Colfax, Wis.) had seven kills and hit .778 on the night, and Jayla Ritter<\/a> (SO\/Forest Lake, Minn.) added six kills.<\/p>\n Miranda Lowman<\/a> (JR\/Mandan, N.D.) handed out 20 assists while Jackie Meiklejohn<\/a> (FR\/Dickey, N.D.) chipped in with 13.<\/p>\n Twelve different players registered digs on defense, led by Julina Niemeier<\/a> (SR\/Jamestown, N.D.)’s 16. Ritter’s three total blocks were a team high.<\/p>\n UJ heads to Nebraska for a pair of Great Plains Athletic Conference matches this weekend. The Jimmies are at Doane on Friday, then face No. 14 Hastings on Saturday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
