Jamestown 3 Dakota Wesleyan 0<\/p>\n

MITCHELL, S.D. (uj.edu)\u00a0 <\/strong>— After sliding through a six-game winless skid, the University of Jamestown men’s soccer team ran their winning streak to three on Thursday, defeating Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) University 3-0.<\/p>\n

Following a scoreless first half and a thirty-minute lightning delay, Jamestown struck first in the 56th minute. Ruben Zepeda<\/a> (SO\/Puebla, Mexico), assisted by Eric Fairtlough<\/a> (SO\/Varese, Italy), made it 1-0. The goal was Zepeda’s sixth of the season and third in his last three matches.<\/p>\n

The lead doubled in the 76th minute as\u00a0Lloyd van Wees<\/a> (SO\/Akersloot, Netherlands) opened his Jimmie goal account.<\/p>\n

Another Jimmie notched his first goal as Diego Valle<\/a> (FR\/Yucaipa, Calif.) converted a penalty kick in the 85th minute for an insurance goal.<\/p>\n

Jake Askew<\/a> (JR\/Rotherham, England) made four saves to earn the clean sheet.<\/p>\n

Shots were 14-5 in favor of Jamestown, as were shots on goal (9-4).<\/p>\n

The Jimmies, now 4-5-1 on the season and 3-2-0 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference, have another GPAC match Saturday at Morningside (Iowa). Match time is 3:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
