University of Jamestown Jimmies defeated Doane in volleyball,\u00a0 19-25 , 25-18, 26-24, 25-27-13<\/p>\n

CRETE, Neb.\u00a0 (uj.edu) <\/strong>— The University of Jamestown volleyball team needed five sets to dispatch Doane (Neb.) Friday night in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. Set scores were 19-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-27, 15-13.<\/p>\n

Isabel Wedell<\/a> (JR\/Ellendale, N.D.) had 13 kills and was joined in double figures by Kori Buchanan<\/a> (SR\/Colfax, Wis.) and Britta Knudson<\/a> (JR\/Bismarck, N.D.), who had 12 each.<\/p>\n

Defensively, Julina Niemeier<\/a> (SR\/Jamestown, N.D.) had 26 digs. Anna Holen<\/a> (FR\/LaMoure, N.D.) (14), Sydney Ellingson<\/a> (SO\/Langdon, N.D.) (12), and Jackie Meiklejohn<\/a> (FR\/Dickey, N.D.) (12) also ended in double digits. Corina Ruud<\/a> (SO\/Breezy Point, Minn.) had eight block assists, followed by Wedell with five. Knudson had five total blocks, including two solo.<\/p>\n

Miranda Lowman<\/a> (JR\/Mandan, N.D.) had 23 of UJ’s 47 assists, with Meiklejohn adding 20 of her own.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (16-4 overall, 6-3 GPAC) plays Saturday at No. 14 Hastings (Neb.) with first serve set for 3:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

HASTINGS, Neb. (uj.edu)<\/strong>\u00a0— The University of Jamestown dropped a four-set match to No. 14 Hastings (Neb.) Saturday afternoon, 21-25, 20-25, 25-11, 22-25.<\/p>\n

Britta Knudson<\/a> (JR\/Bismarck, N.D.) and Ellie Michaletz<\/a> (SO\/Aitkin, Minn.) led the offense with 13 kills and 10 kills, respectively. Knudson hit .444 in the match with only one error in 27 attempts.<\/p>\n

Miranda Lowman<\/a> (JR\/Mandan, N.D.) passed out 20 assists and Jackie Meiklejohn<\/a> (FR\/Dickey, N.D.) recorded a double-double with 18 assists and 10 digs.<\/p>\n

Julina Niemeier<\/a> (SR\/Jamestown, N.D.) tied her season-high of 31 digs. Sydney Ellingson<\/a> (SO\/Langdon, N.D.) added 13 digs as well. Knudson had four total blocks with Corina Ruud<\/a> (SO\/Breezy Point, Minn.) and Jayla Ritter<\/a> (SO\/Forest Lake, Minn.) each adding two.<\/p>\n

Hastings outhit the Jimmies .193-.190 and had a narrow 91-87 edge in digs.<\/p>\n
