Jamestown\u00a0 (uj.edu) The University of Jamestown hockey team posted its second victory over a top-three team in eight days Friday, taking down the University of Illinois 3-2 at Wilson Arena.<\/p>\n
Allan Pruss<\/a> (JR\/Red Deer, Alberta) scored on the power play with 30 seconds remaining in the second period to break a 2-all tie while Tyson Brouwer<\/a> (JR\/Lethbridge, Alberta) made 17 of his 37 saves in the third period to preserve the victory. The Jimmies won their second straight game and are now 3-2-0-1 on the year.<\/p>\n Dylan Haney<\/a> (SO\/Brandon, Manitoba) put Jamestown ahead 1-0 just 17 seconds into the game on an unassisted breakaway. Haney’s goal was the fastest first-period goal in the program’s three-year history and the second-fastest overall goal, behind only Destin Robinson<\/a> (JR\/Ponoka, Alberta)’s 14 second tally on October 21, 2017.<\/p>\n Illinois tied the game on a power play goal by Charley Salk at 6:03 of the second period. Cameron Todd<\/a> (JR\/Burraneer, Australia) broke the tie with a goal two minutes and forty-five seconds later, assisted by Trevor Okino<\/a> (JR\/Richmond, British Columbia).<\/p>\n Jon Moskaluk tied the game once more with a shorthanded marker at 18:48 of the second.<\/p>\n Despite a scoreless third period, Jamestown found itself having to kill off four penalties, including a 5-on-3 for a minute and twenty seconds.
