Jamestown 3 Mount Marty 1<\/p>\n

YANKTON, S.D.\u00a0 (uj.edu) <\/strong>—\u00a0 Kyle Fenske<\/a> (SR\/Savage, Minn.) scored in the 64th minute to break a 1-all tie and the University of Jamestown men’s soccer team also got a pair of goals from Eric Fairtlough<\/a> (SO\/Varese, Italy) in a 3-1 win over Mount Marty (S.D.) Thursday.<\/p>\n

Mount Marty took a 1-0 lead 43 seconds into the match on Fernando Negrete’s goal.<\/p>\n

In the 30th minute, Fairtlough tied the game on an assist from Ben Prochniak<\/a> (SR\/West Fargo, N.D.).<\/p>\n

Fenske’s tally, assisted by Ruben Zepeda<\/a> (SO\/Puebla, Mexico), put UJ ahead 2-1 in the 64th, and Fairtlough added an insurance marker in the 69th.<\/p>\n

Jake Askew<\/a> (JR\/Rotherham, England) had five saves between the sticks for Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Shots were 27-15 in favor of the Jimmies, as were shots on goal (7-6). Corner kicks were 5-4 in favor of the Lancers, and Mount Marty was whistled for 14 fouls to the Jimmies’ 8.<\/p>\n

UJ, now 6-7-1 overall and 5-4-0 in GPAC play, host Concordia (Neb.) Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the first of two home matches to close out the regular season.<\/p>\n

Jamestown 6 Mount Marty 1<\/p>\n

YANKTON, S.D.\u00a0 (uj.edu)\u00a0 <\/strong>— Juliet Ramirez<\/a> (SR\/Fairfield, Calif.) scored twice and the University of Jamestown women’s soccer team used three goals in each half to cruise to a 6-1 victory over Mount Marty (S.D.) College Thursday.<\/p>\n

Sophie Bales<\/a> (JR\/Camarillo, Calif.) got the Jimmies on the board just 63 seconds into the game with an assist from Nicole Moririson. Brianna Kulla<\/a> (JR\/West Fargo, N.D.) made it 2-0 in the 27th minute on an unassisted tally before Ramirez rounded out the first half scoring inthe 33rd minute with an assist from Amanda George<\/a> (SR\/Huntington Beach, Calif.).<\/p>\n

George made it 4-0 with a goal of her own in the 51st minute. Ramirez’s second came in the 55th minute off a free kick and the Jimmies led 5-0.<\/p>\n

Megan Smith got the home team on the board in the 69th minute with an assist by Claire Buhr.<\/p>\n

Natalie Kromm<\/a> (SO\/Stockton, Calif.) scored on a pass from Ryley Bedard<\/a> (FR\/Long Beach, Calif.) in the 76th minute as the game ended 6-1.<\/p>\n

Lauren Sayler<\/a> (SR\/Bismarck, ND) had two saves in goal for UJ.<\/p>\n

The Jimmies outshot the Lancers 34-6 (16-3 on goal). Jamestown had an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks while Mount Marty commited three more fouls (7-4).<\/p>\n
