Ben Prochniak<\/a> (SR\/West Fargo, N.D.) scored with 16 seconds left in regulation to send the match into overtime, and the University of Jamestown men’s soccer team held on for a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Concordia (Neb.) Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Carlos Ferrer was on the receiving end of a nifty through ball by Matthew Ho and put Concordia ahead 1-0 88 seconds into the match.<\/p>\n

It appeared as if Concordia was going to come away the winner of the one-goal game before Prochniak’s heroics in the waning moments of the first 90.<\/p>\n

Neither team could find the game-winner in the 20 extra minutes of time, and the Jimmies were able to stretch their run of unbeaten matches to three.<\/p>\n

Shots were 12-6 in favor of the Bulldogs with both teams registering four shots on goal.<\/p>\n

Jake Askew<\/a> (JR\/Rotherham, England) had three saves for UJ, now 6-7-2 overall and 5-4-1 in the GPAC.<\/p>\n

The Jimmies close out the regular season at home next Sunday with a 3:30 p.m match against Presentation (S.D.) College.<\/p>\n

Jamestown 1 Concordia Neb 1\u00a0 (2OT)<\/p>\n

(uj.edu)\u00a0 The University of Jamestown women’s soccer team played Concordia (Neb.) University to a 1-1 double-overtime draw Saturday afternoon at Jimmie Turf Field.<\/p>\n

After a scoreless first half, Rebekah Freeman took advantage of a Jimmie error in attempting to clear the ball and put Concordia ahead 1-0 in the 49th minute.<\/p>\n

The score remained 1-0 until Lateasha Hughes<\/a> (SR\/Minot, N.D.) played a corner kick from Amanda George<\/a> (SR\/Huntington Beach, Calif.) into the back of the net in the 75th minute.<\/p>\n

Neither team was able to find the winning goal in overtime, and the Jimmies were held without a shot in the extra 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

Lauren Sayler<\/a> (SR\/Bismarck, ND) had four saves for Jamestown, now 9-5-2 overall and 6-2-2 in the GPAC. UJ has two more home games to close out the regular season, with College of Saint Mary (Neb.) and Presentation (S.D.) on October 27-28.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
