Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Frontier Village in Jamestown is hosting the Annual “Pioneer Days,” August 4 & 5, 2012.<\/p>\n

On Monday\u2019s (Jul 30, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Frontier Village Manager Tina Busche, said, on August 4th<\/sup>, the activities will include the Pet Parade.<\/p>\n

MEDORA, N.D. (AP) – An eight-mile stretch of the popular Maah
\nDaah Hey Trail in the western North Dakota Badlands is closed
\nbecause of a wildlfire.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The U.S. Forest Service says the Plumely Draw Fire has blackened
\n51 acres about eight miles south of Medora.<\/p>\n

No structures have been threatened and no injuries have been reported, but the trail used by bikers, hikers and horseback riders is closed from the Bully
\nPulpit Trailhead to Plumely Trailhead.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Forest Service spokeswoman Babete (ba-BEHT’) Anderson tells The
\nDickinson Press that the fire might have been started by lightning,
\nlikely over the weekend.

\nportions of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It runs about 100

\nand stealing her car says he’s not guilty.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dean Grenstiner made his pleas Monday during a brief appearance
\nin state district court in Bismarck.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Judge Donald Jorgensen says Grenstiner’s next court date is Aug.
\n27.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Grenstiner’s arraignment was delayed so he could undergo an
\nindependent psychiatric examination. However, his plea Monday
\ndidn’t make any reference to his mental health.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Grenstiner is being held without bail on charges that he beat
\nhis mother to death in her home last March. Authorities say
\nGrenstiner was living with his mother, Ann Grenstiner, for several
\nweeks before she was killed.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Grenstiner was also charged with stealing his mother’s car. He
\nwas arrested in Moorhead, Minn., the day after his mother’s body
\nwas discovered.<\/p>\n

\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – The man accused of murdering two
\nchildren in their home on the Spirit Lake Nation reservation in
\nNorth Dakota last year will remain in jail until his trial.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nineteen-year-old Valentino Bagola, of St. Michael, waived his
\nright to a detention hearing that was scheduled for Monday.<\/p>\n

\u00a0His three-day federal trial in Grand Forks is scheduled to begin Sept.
\n24. He could face life in prison if convicted.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bagola has pleaded not guilty to killing 9-year-old Destiny Shaw
\nand her 6-year-old brother, Travis DuBois Jr. Authorities say the
\nchildren’s mother found them dead under a mattress in their home in
\nSt. Michael on May 21, 2011. They had been stabbed to death.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bagola also is accused of sexual abuse and child abuse.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Three people arrested in a North Dakota counterfeit case have been charged in federal court.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shawn Patton and Kasi Switzer, both of Las Vegas, are accused of manufacturing at least $10,000 in bogus bills. Authorities say Switzer and Travis Linseth passed the bills to several businesses in Watford City.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Preliminary hearings are scheduled Thursday in Bismarck.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The three defendants were originally arrested by Watford City police, which had received complaints from local banks about counterfeit bills.

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) – The farm aid organization Farm Rescue this fall will help its 200th farmer in the Upper Midwest.<\/p>\n

The first man to receive help from the organization says he’s a little surprised that it has grown so quickly.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Matt Biel (beel) lost a hand in a farming accident in February 2006. Farm Rescue volunteers showed up at his southwest North Dakota farm two months later to help him plant his crops.<\/p>\n

He says he was wary at first but it turned out to be a great thing.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota-based Farm Rescue has since expanded to help farmers in need in South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota and Iowa.<\/p>\n

It has a database of about 1,000 volunteers around the country. Biel says the volunteers are a big part of Farm Rescue’s success.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – Brothers Billy and Marty Cariveau<\/p>\n

caught nine catfish weighing just under 76 1\/2 pounds to win the<\/p>\n

annual Red River catfish tournament in the Grand Forks area.<\/p>\n

Billy Cariveau is from Fargo and Marty Cariveau is from East<\/p>\n

Grand Forks, Minn. They beat the runners-up by about half a pound this weekend to take home the top prize of $3,712. A total of 116 boats took part in the<\/p>\n

tournament.<\/p>\n

The Cariveau brothers have competed in the tournament for 10<\/p>\n

years. The highest they had finished previously was fifth.<\/p>\n

LONDON (AP) – The U.S. men’s gymnastics team failed to win a medal in the team competition.<\/p>\n

The Americans were leading after qualifying but fell to fifth place in the final standings. China won the gold, followed by Japan and Great Britain.<\/p>\n

\npeople in the heart of Norway’s capital, and that a bomb squad with
\nsniffer dogs has been sent there.<\/p>\n
