Valley City\u00a0 (VCPD) \u00a0 The Valley City Police Department on Friday afternoon, updated the investigation into a shooting in the city, that occurred late Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

Police Chief, Phil Hatcher reports, that information in the case has been delayed due to the victim\u2019s condition, and witness cooperation.<\/p>\n

The victim, a 19 year old Valley City Man was shot one time in the upper body, and is in an area hospital recovering.<\/p>\n

The shooting late Wednesday night was about 8-p.m., \u00a0on the northeast part of town, near a school.<\/p>\n

\"\"The suspect is known at this time, only as a black male with shoulder length dreadlocks, approximately five feet eleven inches tall, weighing\u00a0 160 pounds.<\/p>\n

At the time of the crime, the suspect was possibly wearing dark sweatpants and a crew neck sweatshirt.<\/p>\n

\"\"The suspect left the scene in a lighter colored, possibly tan or light gold, late model Pontiac Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

Further information is that the suspect may be from the Chicago area, but has associates in the Fargo-Moorhead area.<\/p>\n

The report says, this act is not a random act crime, as the subjects involved know each other, and no known that to the public.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information about this crime, the suspect, or the vehicle should call Valley City Police at 701-845-3110.\u00a0 Information can remain anonymous.\u00a0 Valley City Police has the Tip 411 app, that can be used, if desired.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Fire Department was called out about 1:11-p.m., Friday, to an apartment building at 1210 3rd Avenue Southwest.<\/p>\n

The caller said smoke detectors were going off in the building.<\/p>\n

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther says, a dryer unit in the lower level of the building was the cause of the alarm activation.<\/p>\n

No structural damage reported.<\/p>\n

Four city fire units were on the scene about 20 minutes.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 84 runners participated in the 2018\u00a05K Turkey Trot Run\/Walk in Jamestown\u00a0 on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2018.\u00a0 The event started at Edgewood Senior Living in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Proceeds benefited the Community Action Region VI Food Pantry.<\/p>\n

Valley City (Stephanie Mayfield) For the past 22 years, the Festival of Trees has been an instrumental source of funding for CHI Mercy Health. The generosity from local individuals and organizations has allowed the hospital to purchase much needed equipment to ensure quality care is available close to home. Recently, the Foundation Board has recognized the need to revitalize the annual charity event.<\/p>\n

CHI Mercy Health Foundation spokeswoman Stephanie Mayfield said \u2018We are excited to introduce our new Annual Charity Event: Holiday Extravaganza,\u201d to be held Nov 24.<\/p>\n

She says this event will be held at the Valley City Eagles Club on Saturday, November 24. The event will include an appetizer buffet, music, live & silent auctions, fun games and raffles and Dueling Pianos by Fun Pianos!<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cWe will have a few Christmas Trees and d\u00e9cor on Live Auction but have added some new items to the auction like an autographed Carson Wentz Eagle\u2019s Jersey, Getaway weekend to Minneapolis, Custom Framed Maryvale Prayer Tunnel print, 2 Premier Vintage Bottles of Wine, a VCHS T-Shirt quilt, and more\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, the event raised $15,000 at the Festival of Trees and with some additional donations, they were able to purchase new software for transmitting our X-Rays! This year, our goal is to raise $27,000 to install 3 ceiling lifts in additional patient rooms that enhances our Safe Patient Handling program.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $30 per person and are on sale in the Foundation office (3rd floor) at the Hospital or online at mercyhospitalvalleycity.org.<\/p>\n

The doors (and silent auction and games and raffles) will open at 5:00-p.m., an hors d\u2019oeuvres buffet will begin at 5:30pm, and our Dueling Pianos by Fun Pianos will begin at 7-p.m. The Live auction will begin after the Dueling Piano show followed by the grand prize raffle drawing for a Honda Pioneer 500 Side by Side at 10pm! The Honda UTV is sponsored by Enterprise Sales and tickets to win are $50 each and are limited to 500 tickets.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce continues to accept nominations for the awards to be presented at the January 24th\u00a0 <\/sup>\u00a02019, Annual Banquet.<\/p>\n

On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Chamber Executive Emily Bivens said nominations are being accepted through December 10th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Awards will be presented for:\u00a0 The Outstanding Citizen of the year, the Above and Beyond Award, and the Young Professional of the Year.<\/p>\n

Also at the Banquet, the recipient of the Business of the Year will be announced.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s capital city has a new mobile app.<\/p>\n

Bismarck spokeswoman Gloria David tells The Bismarck Tribune<\/a> that the app is aimed at making it easier for residents to connect with the city, as well as provide quick access to meeting agendas and emergency information. It also can be used to make a water bill payment.<\/p>\n

The “City of Bismarck” app is for smartphones, tablets and hand-held devices. Additional features include easy access to the city’s social media accounts, department calendars, bid openings and employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Derrick Rose scored 25 points, Karl-Anthony Towns had 21 points and nine rebounds, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Brooklyn Nets 112-102 in New York, Friday afternoon. Rose was 11 for 17 from the field, helping Minnesota get back on track after dropping two in a row. Brooklyn had six players score in double figures, but only shot 41.8 percent from the field.<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 The White House has quietly put out a report on how global warming is worsening U.S. disasters and changing Americans\u2019 everyday lives. Written before this year\u2019s devastating California wildfires, the report warns of how those types of blazes are growing and will get even bigger with climate change. Friday\u2019s report is mandated by law.<\/p>\n

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) \u2014 A conservative writer and associate of Trump confidant Roger Stone says he is in plea talks with special counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s team. Jerome Corsi told The Associated Press on Friday that he has been negotiating a potential plea but declined to comment further. He said on a YouTube show last week that he expected to be charged with lying to federal investigators. Mueller\u2019s team questioned Corsi as part of an investigation into Stone\u2019s connections with WikiLeaks.<\/p>\n

TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) \u2014 The mayor of Tijuana has declared a humanitarian crisis in his border city and says that he has asked the United Nations for aid to deal with the approximately 5,000 Central American migrants who have arrived in the city. Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum says that the Mexican federal government has provided little assistance and he is not going to commit the city\u2019s public resources to dealing with the situation.<\/p>\n

UNDATED (AP) \u2014 U.S. stocks closed lower Friday, bumping the benchmark S&P 500 index into a correction, or drop of 10 percent from its recent all-time high. Energy companies led the market slide as the price of U.S. crude oil fell to its lowest level in more than a year as traders worried that a slowing global economy could hurt demand. Losses in technology and internet stocks and banks outweighed gains elsewhere. Trading volume was light with the markets open for only a half day after the Thanksgiving holiday.<\/p>\n

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) \u2014 Police responding to a fight inside an Alabama shopping mall shot and killed a man who had brandished a weapon. Authorities said Friday that two other people were injured, including a 12-year-old girl.<\/p>\n
