Jamestown (CSi) \u2013 Jamestown Police is seeking help from the public, concerning information about a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle about 2:30, Thursday afternoon at the intersection of 3rd Street Northwest and 3rd Avenue Northwest .<\/p>\n
The JPD news release states, the car reportedly struck the pedestrian who was walking eastbound at the 3rd Street intersection<\/p>\n
The driver of the northbound vehicle fled the scene.<\/p>\n
Sgt. Shane Gallagher reports the driver was described as a caucasian male around 40 years old, with a possible beard and shoulder length hair.<\/p>\n
The vehicle is a silver four door sedan, car.<\/p>\n
Gallagher says a concerned citizen at the scene took the unidentified pedestrian to get medical treatment.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information about the car, or driver is asked to call Jamestown Police at 701-252-2414, or the LEC Dispatch 701-252-1000.<\/p>\n

(AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s judicial branch is asking for additional funding in the next budget, despite a call from Gov. Doug Burgum for executive agencies to submit reduced budget requests.<\/p>\n The judiciary is asking for a 2.9 percent increase for the 2019-2021 biennium budget, or nearly $3 million. The Bismarck Tribune<\/a> says the funding would pay for seven new full-time district court staff positions, including a new judge and court reporter for the district that includes Burleigh and Morton counties.<\/p>\n North Dakota Supreme Court Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle says the request reflects the court system’s needs after cutting 35 full-time positions in 2017.<\/p>\n Burgum is calling for agencies to submit budget requests that are 5 percent to 10 percent lower.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n MANDAN, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A gas leak at the Marathon Petroleum oil refinery in Mandan prompted a brief evacuation of some workers.<\/p>\n Spokesman Ron Day tells The Bismarck Tribune<\/a> that operators detected a pinhole leak in a processing unit that released a propane-type gas about 10:40 a.m. Thursday. All refinery personnel deemed non-essential went to a designated safe area for about 20 minutes.<\/p>\n Day says no one was hurt or exposed to the gas.<\/p>\n The refinery notified local law enforcement and the state Health Department. The processing unit has been shut down for repairs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Titan Machinery Inc. (TITN) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter earnings of $10.8 million.<\/p>\n On a per-share basis, the West Fargo, North Dakota-based company said it had profit of 48 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 49 cents per share.<\/p>\n The agriculture and construction equipment seller posted revenue of $363.6 million in the period.<\/p>\n Titan Machinery expects full-year earnings in the range of 65 cents to 75 cents per share.<\/p>\n Titan Machinery shares have dropped 33 percent since the beginning of the year. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s winter wheat crop appears to be in decent shape, and farmers are continuing to make progress on the late-season harvest. The federal Agriculture Department in its weekly crop report says about two-thirds of the winter wheat is in good to excellent shape, with another quarter rated fair. The report says 94 percent of soybeans, 80 percent of sunflowers and 80 percent of corn is harvested.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The North Dakota Geological Survey is expanding its well-received fossil dig program.<\/p>\n After attracting people from 31 states last year, the program doubled in size this year. North Dakota fossil scientists now plan to spend 46 days in the field next year to help people find prehistoric fossils, the Bismarck Tribune reported<\/a> .<\/p>\n North Dakota now has one of the top public fossil dig programs in the country, according to senior state paleontologist Clint Boyd.
