APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS INCLUDED:<\/strong><\/p>\n Monthly Reports from the Fire Chief, Building Inspector, Auditor, Municipal Judge and Public Works Accountant.<\/p>\n Monthly Bills for the City and Public Works in the Amount of $ 1,614,949.28<\/p>\n A\u00a0 Raffle Permit for CHI Health at Home, Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce, Valley City Fire Department, VCSU Student Chapter of Wildlife Society<\/p>\n A Mechanical Contractor License for Wenzel Heating & Air Conditioning<\/p>\n PUBLIC COMMENTS…No one spoke <\/p>\n ORDINANCE <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n The City Commission approved the Second & Final Reading of, an Ordinance Recodifying the Revised Ordinances of the City of Valley City and Repealing & Re-enacting Title 1, General Provisions.<\/span><\/p>\n City Attorney Schoenack explained how she changed the language, concerning wording, and definitions.<\/span><\/p>\n Approved was the Second & Final Reading of an Ordinance Amending Various Sections of Valley City Municipal Code (V.C.M.C.)\u00a0 City Attorney Schoenack said, this is the final Ordinance of the recodification process, with the draft to be prepared over the next few months.<\/p>\n RESOLUTION <\/strong><\/p>\n City Commissioners approved a\u00a0 Resolution Amending & Recreating Storm Sewer Improvement District No. 50.\u00a0 KLJ said various drainage issues were addressed, including along 10th<\/sup> Street and Winter Show Road.\u00a0 A new list of properties affected has been drawn up.<\/p>\n NEW BUSINESS <\/strong><\/p>\n Approved was the Urban Roads Project Submittal List for Fiscal Year 2020-2023. KLJ said this is a yearly process in December of each year.<\/p>\n Approved was the Amended Employee Policy & Procedure Manual as drawn up by City Attornery Schoenack. <\/span><\/p>\n CITY ADMINISTRATOR\u2019S REPORT<\/strong><\/p>\n David Schelkoph said the preliminary 2019 Public Works budget has been approved, with zero rate increases for 2019.<\/p>\n He pointed out the new city website that is now on line, adding that it is more user friendly.<\/p>\n The public is invited to give additional ideas to include, or not working correctly.<\/p>\n StreetScape II has made a recommendation of KLJ to perform the work for the city.<\/p>\n Three firms were interviewed.<\/p>\n CITY UPDATES & COMMISSION REPORTS<\/strong><\/p>\n City Attorney Schoenack said, a new binder will be included in the recodified Ordinance, with the former ones from the 60\u2019s and 80\u2019s.<\/p>\n Building Inspector Dave Andersen reminded residents of removing snow from sidewalks with 24 hours of a new snow fall event.<\/p>\n He added asbestos is being removed from the old power house, with demolition slated to start next week.<\/p>\n Gary Retterath reminded residents to be careful with heating devices.<\/p>\n The meeting was shown live on CSi Cable 68 followed by replays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Valley City (CSi)\u00a0 The Valley City Commission met in Regular Session Tuesday evening at City Hall.\u00a0 All members were present.
