News Apr 4, 2013) &#8212; SRF Consultants Thursday (Apr 4, 2013) at the Quality Inn &amp; Suites in Jamestown hosted an open house on the Jamestown Land Use Plan.<\/p>\n<p>The questions and feedback session, outlined the land use draft form, and draft map.<\/p>\n<p>Cindy Gray,\u00a0 SRF Consulting Group, planner,\u00a0 pointed out that those in attendance had a variety of questions.<\/p>\n<p>The draft is subject to change following Thursday\u2019s gathering.<\/p>\n<p>A Growth Management Plan for the City of Jamestown, includes a future land use plan which defines growth areas for the City of Jamestown and its two-mile Extraterritorial Area.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Gray said, the ultimate decisions regarding property use remains with the property owner.<\/p>\n<p>The land use plan could be used to guide future changes in zoning or land use if it is initiated by the property owner.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport, Manager, Matt Leitner said the land use plan includes future plans for airport lots on the west side of the airport, and on 21<sup>st Avenue.<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Following adoption, the future land use plan will serve as a planning tool for the city.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen says the plan does not call for the immediate change in land use or zoning.<\/p>\n<p>Existing development that may be designated as a different land use in the future land use plan will be allowed to continue in its current use and zoning district for an indefinite amount of time or at such time that a zone change is requested.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed change must comply with the future land use plan.<\/p>\n<p>SRF Consulting and Jamestown officials will evaluate the concepts, consider revisions to the plan,and the Jamestown City Council may consider adopting the plan as part of an overall growth management plan as early as its May meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V.
