(AP) &#8211; An early spring snowstorm is in store for parts of the Dakotas early this week.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The National Weather Service has posted various advisories and warnings in the two states. Forecasters expect the heaviest snow in South Dakota, with a foot or more falling in some areas by Wednesday morning, accompanied by winds gusting up to 40 mph.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Parts of southwest North Dakota could see a half foot of snow. Some county sheriffs advised no travel early Monday, and no travel was advised on U.S. Highway 85 in the region.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Freezing rain also is a possibility in both states.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Meteorologist Taylor Trogdon in Aberdeen tells the American News that while it&#8217;s getting late in the season, snowstorms in April aren&#8217;t rare.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Oakes, ND (KCSi-T.V. Apr 7, 2013)\u00a0 \u2014 The NDHP, along with assistance from the ND BCI, Sargent County SO and Oakes PD is investigating a possible vehicle\/pedestrian hit and run crash that occurred on a rural, gravel county road in Sargent County around three a.m.,\u00a0 Sunday April 7, 2013.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The report says \u00a0a truck driven by 22-year-old Dakota Sutton of Brampton, North Dakota struck\u00a0an unidentifed \u00a028-year-old man on Sargent County Road two, four miles south of North Dakota Highway 11 around 3 a.m. Sunday. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The victim was taken by a private\u00a0vehicle to\u00a0 Oakes Community Hospital around 5 a.m., and was pronounced dead a short time later.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sutton is\u00a0 charged with\u00a0 leaving the scene of a fatal crash, and is in custody at the Barnes County jail.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No other details\u00a0were available on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The investigation, is continuing.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased party\u2019s name will be released Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; The Jamestown City Council met at City Hall, in Special Session, then adjourned into close Executive Session on Friday morning (Apr 5, 2013) to consult with the City Attorney concerning the territorial Service claims by the Stutsman Rural Water District.<\/p>\n<p>At issue is which entity will serve Titan Machinery\u2019s location under construction west of Jamestown, and other parcels in that area, within the one mile extra-territory of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Attending the Executive Session were: Mayor Andersen, Assistant City Attorney Mary Jensen, City Administrator Jeff Fuchs, City Council Members, Kourajian, Gumke, Brubakken, and Buchanan, along with City Engineer Reed Schwartzkopf , and City Fire Chief Jim Reuther.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday\u2019s (Apr 1, 2013) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Mayor Andersen said the last meeting between the two entities was about three weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>She said, the city received an E-Mail from Stutsman Rural Water District, in response to the city\u2019s latest counter offer, with two alternate plans, which include the City of Jamestown Serving Titan Machinery, or SRWD serving Titan.<\/p>\n<p>She added that bids have been submitted for construction of the water and sewer lines to Titan, as the extended bid period has about another 30 days to go, before bids would have to be re-advertised.<\/p>\n<p>At Friday\u2019s meeting, following the Executive Session the Special Session was reconvened.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Andersen said no official action was to be taken by the City Council.<\/p>\n<p>A brief discussion was held on the status of a bill concerning rural water in the North Dakota legislature.<\/p>\n<p>The open portion of the meeting was shown live on CSi 67.<\/p>\n<p>House Bill 1440<\/p>\n<p>Introduced by Rep. News Apr 4, 2013) &#8212; A Southwest Jamestown building is being re-purposed, and will be the home for four new stores.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce, Executive Felicia Sargeant said that on Thursday afternoon a gather was held at to make the announcement, at the Jamestown Holiday Inn Express.<\/p>\n<p>It was announced that coming in May 2013 to the former Sara Lee Bread store along Highway 281 South, are reported to be the previously announced Cherry Berry, along with Ms. J\u2019s Chicken and Ribs, Potato Pit and Java Dave\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Cherry Berry will have a variety of frozen yogurt flavors.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. J\u2019s (Jamestown, Jimmies Blue Jays) Chicken and Ribs will offer broasted chicken and barbequed ribs.<\/p>\n<p>Potato Pit with French fries, jalapeno poppers, and other potato snack foods.<\/p>\n<p>Cavendish, in Jamestown to provide foods for Potato Pit.<\/p>\n<p>A mix of beverages will be available at Java Dave\u2019s Coffee Bar.<\/p>\n<p>The location was the former home to Kentucky Fried Chicken, and an Iranian<\/p>\n<p>style restaurant in past years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A neighbor says he wishes he could have done more to save the victims of an apartment fire Saturday in Fargo.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jerome Jangula says he and another neighbor tried to get into the apartment where the fire apparently started, but the smoke prevented them from doing so.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thirty-year-old Jesse Daniel Madson died at the scene, and 42-year-old Angela Marie Wentz was taken to a burn unit in Minneapolis.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jangula says he and a neighbor opened the apartment door and yelled, but got no answer. He says his neighbor got five feet into the apartment, but could go no farther. Jangula says the smoke nearly overtook him and his neighbor as they moved to get out of the apartment building.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Fargo man has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly locking two men in his apartment and beating them with a sword and a table leg.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDamon White Bird also is charged with felonious restraint and aggravated assault. Police say there were witnesses also in the apartment during the alleged assault.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One victim suffered a skull fracture and internal bleeding. The other had puncture wounds on his upper back and chest, across his shoulders and on his face and hands.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The city of Fargo is getting help from other states in its quest to fill a million sandbags to prepare for expected spring flooding.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Volunteers from the Headwaters Relief organization in Minneapolis-St. Paul were among the workers last week when Fargo kicked off its sandbag filling operations.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Headwaters volunteer Jason Hoffrogge says sandbags is out of the ordinary and he looks at it as an opportunity to help people.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 About 476,000 sandbags were filled in four days last week. Volunteer operations at so-called Sandbag Central are set to resume Monday morning.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The National Weather Service says the Red River has a 50 percent chance of reaching 38 feet later this month, which would be the fifth highest flood of all time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Conference committees will be hard at work this week reconciling differing versions of bills in the waning weeks of the North Dakota Legislature.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 2013 legislative session is entering its 62nd day today. (AP) &#8211; A priest from Nebraska is the newest bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fargo.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pope Francis announced Monday that he had appointed Monsignor John Folda as the eighth bishop of the Fargo diocese, which serves more than 130 parishes and 72,000 parishioners in eastern North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 51-year-old Folda current serves as rector of St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, Neb. (AP) &#8211; U.S. Forest Service officials say a fire that scorched more than 16 square miles of Dakotas grassland has been fully contained. The fire on the Grand River Ranger District of the Dakota Prairie Grassland spread last Wednesday after a prescribed burn escaped containment near Hettinger, N.D.
