(CNBC)\u00a0 Former U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of ND announced Tuesday on Twitter she is starting a new job as a CNBC – CSi Cable 38 –\u00a0<\/strong>contributor.<\/p>\n

Heitkamp, a Democrat was defeated in Nov 2018 in her re-election bid by Republican Rep Kevin Cramer.<\/p>\n

Heitkamp tweeted on Tuesday, \u201cOff to an interesting start! Looking forward to talking with you all as a @CNBC contributor. #NewBeginning.”<\/p>\n

CNBC lists Heitkamp as a contributor on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last Saturday Heitkamp said\u00a0 she does not intend to run for governor in 2020 but would make \u201csome announcement\u201d this week about her plans.<\/p>\n

The North Dakota Democrat has been named one of four Visiting Fellows by the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School<\/a> .
