Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown\u00a0 police arrested a\u00a0female early Sunday on suspicion of aggravated assault\u00a0stemming from\u00a0an incident, involving a weapon,\u00a0reported Saturday, night,\u00a0in Northwest Jamestown<\/p>\n

Assistant Police Chief Major Justin Blinsky says\u00a0the call came in just before 11\u00a0p.m., to\u00a0the residence.<\/p>\n

A 26 year-old man was\u00a0taken to \u00a0Jamestown Regional Medical Center for injuries\u00a0he received\u00a0in the incident.<\/p>\n

Blinsky says, \u201cDuring the course of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the residence where the crime was believed to have been committed. Due to the possible safety risks to officers and the seriousness of the offense, the James-Valley Special Operations Team was activated to carry out the warrant.\u201d<\/p>\n

At about 5 a.m. Sunday, the search warrant was executed at 814 4th Avenue, \u00a0Northwest. Arrested \u00a0was 44 year old\u00a0 Danielle Yvonne Hall, of Jamestown, on suspicion of aggravated assault and suspicion of possessing marijuana paraphernalia.<\/p>\n

She\u00a0was remanded to\u00a0the Stutsman County Correctional Center and awaiting formal charges.<\/p>\n

Assisting Jamestown Police were:\u00a0 The James Valley Special Operations Team, the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Department and the North Dakota Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 252-2414.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Police arrested two individuals, on multiple violations\u00a0 after a vehicle pursuit that started around 10-p.m., Friday.<\/p>\n

Lt. Sid Mann reports,\u00a0police \u00a0attempted to stop a red Jeep vehicle\u00a0leaving Casey\u2019s General Store in North Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The vehicle did not stop for the officers and continued through residential areas in Northeast Jamestown until leaving Northbound out of city limits towards Jamestown Marina.<\/p>\n

\"\"The driver Cody Deese had a probation hold and a suspended driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n

Spike strips were set up at the intersection of Highway 20 and East Lakeside Road.\u00a0 Evading\u00a0the spike strips\u00a0it continued\u00a0east on 32nd Street Southeast \u00a0at speeds of around 55 mph.<\/p>\n

The vehicle the became disabled in a snow drift on the section line near 88th Avenue Southeast where Deese and a passenger Jessica Poux were taken into custody just a few minutes later.<\/p>\n

During the pursuit, the two occupants switched positions in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Deese is\u00a0 being held in the Stutsman County Correctional Center on $1,5000 bond on charges of Driving While Operator\u2019s License was Suspended, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude in a Motor Vehicle, and Wreckless Driving, and is being held on Parole and Probation hold. \u00a0Poux is being held for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude in a Motor Vehicle.<\/p>\n

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 board member Jay Nitchke said to call local veterinarians for more information on their participation and the fee reduction.<\/p>\n

On another topic, with sub-zero temperatures and wind chills returning, to make sure animals stay safe, and not let them stay outside for extended periods of time.<\/p>\n

She also reminded viewers that kennel signs are still available to pay tribute to a dog or cat, or a person who has shown their love and caring for animals.<\/p>\n

The cost for a sign on a kennel for one year is a $100 contribution to the James River Humane Society.<\/p>\n

She said the shelter current has about 25 cats, and 16 dogs available for adoption.<\/p>\n

WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A Watford police officer has been injured in a weekend crash.The North Dakota Highway Patrol said 30-year-old Jacob Gadewoltz was responding to a request for assistance made by the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office when the crash occurred Saturday. Gadewoltz went through an intersection onto the shoulder of the road and collided with a hay bale.The officer was taken to the McKenzie County Hospital and treated for minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.\u00a0<\/article>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota is inching closer to allowing the public to remotely access court records.<\/p>\n

All state court documents are public, but people who want to read them must present themselves at the courthouse. A proposed measure would expand access to court documents via electronic means.<\/p>\n

The proposal would act on national legal groups’ recommendations to eliminate obstacles to public access, such as commuting to a courthouse.<\/p>\n

“If the people want to actually find out how the courts work, they can look,” said Jack McDonald, legal counsel for the North Dakota Newspaper Association. “They can go in and see the documents. I think it’s opening up the process, and I think nothing but good will come of that.”<\/p>\n

The state Supreme Court asked the Court Services Administration Committee to consider public comments on the draft measure. The committee met Jan. 18 to assess the comments, The Bismarck Tribune<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The North Dakota Legislature is moving toward its midsession break at month’s end and lawmakers are busy mulling bills in their respective chambers.<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at some legislative highlights upcoming this week:<\/p>\n

ABORTION<\/p>\n

After already passing two abortion measures this session, North Dakota House Republicans are now pushing a pair of resolutions underlining their disapproval of the procedure.<\/p>\n

One resolution, sponsored by Lutheran pastor and freshman Rep. Jeff Hoverson of Minot, is aimed at “urging North Dakota courts to refrain from referencing” the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion.<\/p>\n

The resolution says the Supreme Court “overstepped its boundaries” in its ruling.<\/p>\n

The second resolution, sponsored by Rep. Vicky Steiner, of Dickinson, urges Congress to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.<\/p>\n

Hearings on the resolutions are scheduled for Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Representatives approved legislation last week that would require abortion providers to tell women undergoing drug-induced abortions that they could still have a live birth if they change their mind. The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said there is no medically accepted evidence that a drug-induced abortion can be interrupted.<\/p>\n

The House also passed a measure that would ban the most commonly used procedure in second-trimester abortions. Abortion-rights groups argue that banning the procedure known as dilation and evacuation is unconstitutional because it interferes with private medical decisions.<\/p>\n

North Dakota legislators will hold a second round of hearings Wednesday and Thursday on competing Republican and Democratic bills that would develop rules to comply with a voter-approved constitutional amendment aimed at ethics reform.<\/p>\n

ATLANTA (AP) \u2014 It’s a sixth Super Bowl win for the New England Patriots, after beating the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 on Sunday. It was the lowest-scoring Super Bowl ever. And among the other Super Bowl records set: Fewest points by the winning team (13); fewest combined points through three quarters (6); most consecutive drives ending with a punt (8 by the Rams); longest punt (65 yards). It was\u00a0 the first in which neither team reached the end zone until the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n

The Patriots didn’t go ahead to stay until a five-play, 69-yard drive that ended with Sony Michel’s two-yard touchdown run with seven minutes remaining. Brady threw for 67 yards on the drive, including passes of 18 and 29 yards to Rob Gronkowski.<\/p>\n

Brady was intercepted on his first pass before finishing 21 of 35 for 262 yards. Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman was his primary target, grabbing 10 passes for 141 yards.<\/p>\n

Michel had 94 yards on 18 carries for the Patriots, who join the Steelers as the only teams with six Super Bowl titles.<\/p>\n

The Rams had a chance to tie it shortly after Michel’s go-ahead TD. They advanced to the New England 27 before Jared Goff was picked off at the 4 with about f 4 \u00bd minutes to play. The Patriots turned the miscue into a game-clinching field goal by Stephen Gostkowski.<\/p>\n

The Rams managed just 260 net yards, most of it coming after the midway mark of the third quarter. Los Angeles didn’t score until Todd Zuerlein (ZUR’-lyn) drilled a 53-yard field goal with 2:11 left in the third period.<\/p>\n

Goff was 19 of 38 for 229 yards for the Rams, who managed just 62 yards on the ground despite the presence of Todd Gurley.<\/p>\n

The Patriots tied a Super Bowl record for fewest points allowed, matching the mark set by the Cowboys in a 24-3 win over the Dolphins in Super Bowl 6. New England is also the first team since the 1972 Dolphins to win a Super Bowl the year after losing one.<\/p>\n

Raptors dump Clippers<\/p>\n

UNDATED (AP) \u2014 The Toronto Raptors hit the road for a three-game trip after winning at Air Canada Centre for the 11th time in their last 12 games.<\/p>\n

The Raptors used balanced scoring and a big second quarter to beat the Clippers, 121-103. Kawhi (kah-WY’) Leonard dropped in 18 points for Toronto, which improved to 38-16 and opened a 3 1\/2-game lead over Boston and Philadelphia in the Atlantic Division.<\/p>\n

Serge Ibaka (ih-BAH’-kah) had 16 points and 12 rebounds for his sixth straight double-double, Toronto’s longest such streak since Chris Bosh had eight in a row in November 2009.<\/p>\n

Pascal Siakam and C.J. Miles each had 15 points to help the Raptors win without All-Star guard Kyle Lowry, who sat out because of a sore back.<\/p>\n

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a game-high 19 points for the Clippers, who have dropped three of four.<\/p>\n

\u2014 The Thunder’s seven-game winning streak is over after Kyrie Irving delivered 30 points and 11 assists in the Celtics’ 134-129 victory against Oklahoma City. Marcus Morris added 19 points and Marcus Smart had 18 with seven assists in the Celtics’ ninth win in 10 games. Paul George scored 37 points and Russell Westbrook notched his 19th triple-double of the season with 22 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds for the Thunder.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Mike Conley scored 25 points and Marc Gasol contributed 24 as the Grizzlies beat the Knicks, 96-84 in New York to end a nine-game road losing streak. Conley added eight rebounds and seven assists, while Gasol had nine boards in what could have been their final road game as Grizzlies. The Knicks dropped their 13th straight despite DeAndre Jordan’s 12 points and 12 boards in his team debut.<\/p>\n

NHL-BRUINS-CAPITALS<\/p>\n

Bruins finally beat Caps<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 David Krejci (KRAY’-chee) and Tuukka (TOO’-kah) Rask have helped the Boston Bruins beat the Washington Capitals for the first time in their last 15 meetings.<\/p>\n

Rask stopped 24 shots and made Krejci’s second-period goal stand up in a 1-0 win over the Capitals in Washington. Rask made 11 saves in the third period to secure his 253rd career win with Boston, breaking Tiny Thompson’s team record.<\/p>\n

It was Boston’s first victory over Washington since March 29, 2014. The Bruins also ended a three-game skid and dealt the Caps their eighth loss in nine games.<\/p>\n

In other NHL action:<\/p>\n

\u2014 Former Hurricanes Derek Ryan, Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin all scored in their first game back in Carolina to lead the Flames to a 4-3 victory. FSU drops Francois<\/p>\n

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) \u2014 Florida State says quarterback Deondre Francois is no longer a member of the team.<\/p>\n

FSU head coach Willie Taggart said in a statement that he recently notified Francois of his decision, which comes a day after the quarterback’s girlfriend posted a video to Instagram alleging abuse by Francois.<\/p>\n

The Tallahassee Democrat reports that the video shows neither Francois nor the girlfriend, but a woman can be heard begging a man to stop hitting her.<\/p>\n

The player hasn’t been charged with a crime.<\/p>\n

MLB-OBIT-FRIEND<\/p>\n

PITTSBURGH (AP) \u2014 Former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Bob Friend has died at 88.<\/p>\n

The three-time All-Star is the Pirates’ all-time leader with 3,480 1\/3 innings pitched, 477 starts and 1,682 strikeouts. Friend was 18-12 with a 3.00 ERA in 1960 to help the Bucs reach the World Series.<\/p>\n

Friend was 197-230 with a 3.58 ERA in his career.<\/p>\n

PGA-PHOENIX OPEN<\/p>\n

Fowler wins Phoenix Open<\/p>\n

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) \u2014 Rickie Fowler overcame a bizarre triple bogey with birdies on two of his last four holes to win the PGA’s Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale.<\/p>\n

Fowler closed with a 3-over 74 for a 17 under total, two strokes ahead of Branden Grace.<\/p>\n

Fowler was up by five until he took a 7 on the par-4 11th. A chip shot skipped across the green and into the water before his second ball rolled into the water on its own.<\/p>\n

Grace took the lead with consecutive birdies, but hit his tee shot into the water on the drivable par-4 17th for a bogey.<\/p>\n

LISBON, Portugal (AP) \u2014 A key group of European Union countries have endorsed Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido as the country’s interim president piling the pressure on embattled President Nicolas Maduro to resign and let the country hold a new presidential election. Maduro, for his part, stood defiant and accused the United States of preparing a coup in the South American country. Spain, Germany, France and Britain delivered diplomatic blows to Maduro’s rule by publicly supporting Guaido on Monday.RICHMOND, Va. (AP) \u2014 Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam is clinging to office amid nearly unanimous calls from fellow Democrats to resign over a racist photo in his 1984 medical school yearbook. Northam first admitted he was in the picture showing one man in blackface and another in a Ku Klux Klan outfit. Then he denied it, but meanwhile said he did wear blackface once to imitate Michael Jackson in a dance contest.
