Undated (KCSi-T.V. News) — Sargent County, States Attorney Lyle Bopp has charged a 22 year old man in a Sunday (Apr 7, 2013) hit and run accident that claimed the life of a 28 year old Oakes man.<\/p>\n

22 year old Dakota Sutton, of Brampton, North Dakota, was charged with not coming to the aid of Reavis Dandridge, after Sutton\u2019s vehicle allegedly ran over Dandridge, as he walked along a rural Sargent County road, about 3-a.m.<\/p>\n

Bopp says it\u2019s possible that Dandridge was struck by another vehicle, before Sutton came by with his pickup.<\/p>\n

Bail was set at 50-thousand dollars for Sutton.<\/p>\n

Bopp sayd Dandridge and Sutton knew each other, and had been in each others company, earlier.<\/p>\n

Dandridge moved to North Dakota from the Twin Cities.<\/p>\n

The case is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.<\/p>\n

Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — An informational meeting will be held Thrusday April 11, 2013, at 5:30 p.m., at the Viking Room, as the 14th Annual Barnes County Relay for Life will have a new location\u2026.downtown Valley City.<\/p>\n

American Cancer Society Regional Community Relationship manager, Mary Dahl in Fargo says, the traditional ceremonies associated with the popular American Cancer Society event, will be maintained.<\/p>\n

She adds, downtown Valley City business owners and managers are encouraged to attend an informational meeting to provide input on the event.<\/p>\n

Co-event coordinators Margaret Bessette and Vicki & Terry Jones will hold the informational meeting.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News ) — The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office reports, that a one-vehicle accident on I-94 at 6:15-p.m., Monday (Apr 8, 2013) caused over $15,000 in damage.<\/p>\n

The accident occurred, near the east Stutsman County line.<\/p>\n

37 year old Jeffrey Ford, of Davison, Michigan was operating a 2004 Chevrolet pulling a travel trailer westbound on I-94 when the vehicle started to slide.<\/p>\n

The vehicle and trailer jackknifed going into the north ditch.<\/p>\n

The trailer unhitched from the vehicle and turned on its side.<\/p>\n

The car was traveling around 30 mph at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n

Ford was not injured and he was wearing his seat belt.<\/p>\n

Damage was estimated at $15,000 to the car, and no damage estimate was available for the trailer.<\/p>\n

No citation was issued.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi- T.V. News) — Authorities believe a vehicle may have damaged a utility pole Tuesday evening (Apr 9, 2013) about 8:30, atop Mill Hill, that led to the roadway being closed for a period of time.<\/p>\n

The pole, located just north of U.S. Highway 281 on 18th Street Southwest,<\/p>\n

Highway 281 South was closed to traffic from 20th Street to 17th Street Southwest.<\/p>\n

An Otter Tail Power Company crew was senyto the scene<\/p>\n

The incident is under investigation by the Jamestown Police Department.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fargo Fire Marshal Norm Scottsays 42-year-old Angela Wentz died Tuesday night, after being in critical condition at a Minneapolis burn center since the Saturday fire.\u00a0\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thirty-year-old Jesse Madson died at the scene of the fire, which Scott says was started by smoking materials.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Two North Dakota women accused of beating a man with his walking canes and stealing his money have pleaded guilty to assault charges.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Brittany Lafountain, of Belcourt, and Shamra Campbell, of Minot, are charged in federal court with assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the 23-year-old Lafountain and 45-year-old Campbell assaulted the man on Aug. 2 at his residence in Belcourt. The victim was hospitalized for his injuries.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The assault charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors have agreed to drop robbery charges.

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A man is accused of spearheading an operation to smuggle people into the United States at the border of North Dakota and Canada. Darwin Catarero-Sanchez is charged in federal court with bringing people into the country illegally and harboring them. He has not been asked to enter a plea. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cycle of gradual melting came to an end Tuesday when temperatures failed to reach the freezing mark. However, the stubborn cold air over North Dakota pushed a heavy spring storm to the south, where a foot of snow was expected in some areas.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fargo is bracing for its fourth major flood in five years. Volunteers are working to fill a million sandbags.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Flood expert Paul Todhunter, a University of North Dakota geography professor, says it’s difficult to predict snowmelt floods because there are so many factors involved and the area is in the midst of a wet cycle. \u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s Senate has endorsed a measure that would provide grant money to schools experiencing rapid growth in enrollment.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Senate approved the measure 33-14 on Tuesday. The House approved the bill 70-23 in February.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The amount of funding varied between the two chambers. The measure will now likely head to a conference committee to work on reconciling the differences.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – City, county and school officials have told the North Dakota Senate Appropriations Committee that more than $200 million should be restored in a measure that distributes oil and gas tax revenue.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Senate Finance and Taxation Committee had stripped the money from a House bill that had proposed more than $737 million be divided up between political subdivisions over the next two years.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials from oil-producing counties told senators that the proposed $531 million in funding won’t come close to meeting the needs for such things as road building and repair, utilities, housing and schools.

If signed into law, more than 20,000 people would be added to Medicaid.<\/p>\n

(AP) – The Navy has canceled remaining 2013 performances of the Blue Angels because of federal budget cuts, meaning the elite aerial demonstration team will not be headlining this year’s Fargo AirSho as planned. AirSho committee co-chairman Dick Walstad calls it a huge blow. Officials are looking at the possibility of holding a fly-in of World War II warbirds to complement the air show performers who are already signed to contracts.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cassidy Szeredy pleaded guilty Monday to harassment and disorderly conduct. She was sentenced to about a year of unsupervised probation and ordered to pay $500 in fines and fees.
