Tuesday night and Wednesday system has shifted a little further west. It now looks to bring light snow to most of the area, with the exception of the Devils
\nLake region.<\/p>\n

The most snow, 3 to 5 inches, is expected from the far southern Red River Valley into adjacent areas of west central Minnesota. At this point, wind speeds during the time of this snowfall look to remain low.<\/p>\n

Other snow chances will arrive by late week into the weekend. At this point, these look to mainly affect areas along and south of Interstate 94.<\/p>\n

NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Payless ShoeSource is shuttering all of its 2,100 remaining stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, joining a list of iconic names like Toys R Us and Bon-Ton that have closed down in the last year.<\/p>\n

The Topeka, Kansas-based chain said Friday it will hold liquidation sales starting Sunday and wind down its e-commerce operations. All of the stores will remain open until at least the end of March and the majority will remain open until May.<\/p>\n

The debt-burdened chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April 2017, closing hundreds of stores as part of its reorganization.<\/p>\n

North Dakota store closing include West Acres in Fargo, and\u00a0 Columbia Mall\u00a0 in Grand Forks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Payless locations in Shopko Hometown stores are also closing, including the Valley City location.<\/strong><\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The North Dakota House has voted in favor of several proposed changes to the state’s medical marijuana law.The changes will need Senate approval before they can take effect.House members approved adding 13 illnesses to the list of 17 approved medical conditions, along with terminal illnesses. They would include Tourette syndrome, migraines, rheumatoid arthritis, opioid withdrawal and autism spectrum disorders.<\/p>\n

Another change would add edibles to the approved forms of the drug, as long as the edibles aren’t in a form like gummy candy that could be marketed to children.<\/p>\n

Other changes would add physician assistants to the list of health professionals who can certify patients, and would remove a requirement that health professionals attest medical marijuana will help a patient. That has made some wary of certifying patients.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n

(AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s House has passed legislation that would exempt military retirement pay from state income tax.Representatives passed the bill 50-42 on Monday.The deduction is available to individuals or their survivors who receive military retirement pay.State budget writers estimate about $3 million in state income tax is generated from military retirement pay.The measure now heads to the Senate.\u00a0<\/article>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 District 12 and 29 will host the Annual Lincoln Day Dinner at the Gladstone Inn & Suites in Jamestown on Friday February 22nd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s Senate has approved a resolution that would give the Legislature input on successful citizen-led initiatives that amend the state constitution.Senators voted 31-16 on Monday to allow the Legislature to vote on the measure following voters’ approval. The initiative would go back to voters for final approval if it fails to win lawmakers’ endorsement.Opponents believe the proposed legislation goes against the will of the people.Republican Sen. David Hogue says the legislation was inspired in part by a string of successful ballot measures funded largely by out-of-state interests.<\/p>\n

The resolution now goes to the House for consideration.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s House has passed bipartisan legislation intended to collect data on missing and murdered people.Representatives voted 93-0 on Monday to approve the measure sponsored by Fargo Democratic Rep. Ruth Buffalo. She is the first female Native American Democrat elected to the state Legislature.Buffalo’s bill initially included missing and murdered Native Americans in North Dakota but she expanded it to include all people.Buffalo says the state does not collect data on missing people and the issue of missing and murdered indigenous women is a “nationwide crisis.”The state Attorney General’s office supports the legislation.It now heads to the Senate for consideration.<\/article>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s House has rejected a measure that would prohibit housing or workforce discrimination based on sexual orientation.The bill was defeated 70-22 on Monday. It’s the latest defeat for an idea that’s gone down several times in recent years.The North Dakota Senate in January rejected a measure that would prohibit housing or workforce discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.The House bill does not include gender identity. The North Dakota Human Rights Coalition, which has supported the anti-discrimination bills in the past, said it now opposes the House bill because it does not also include gender identity.The groups says the omission would “codify into law that it is acceptable to discriminate against transgender people.”<\/article>\n

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) \u2014 Duke keeps finding its way back to No. 1.<\/p>\n

The Blue Devils reclaimed the top spot<\/a> in Monday’s AP Top 25, the third time this season they’ve reached No. 1. Duke earned 58 of 64 first-place votes to climb one spot and replace Tennessee, which had spent four weeks at No. 1 but fell to fifth after Saturday’s loss<\/a> at Kentucky.<\/p>\n

Duke has now spent nearly half of the season’s polls (seven of 16) at No. 1, and hasn’t been ranked lower than fourth since the preseason. The Blue Devils (23-2) \u2014 who start four talented freshmen in RJ Barrett, Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish and Tre Jones \u2014 also haven’t lost a game at full strength since falling to Gonzaga<\/a> in the Maui Invitational championship game.<\/p>\n
