MINNEAPOLIS (AP) \u2014 Interstates reopened Sunday morning in North Dakota and South Dakota after a winter storm dumped more than a foot (0.3 meter) of snow in parts of the Upper Midwest.<\/p>\n
North Dakota transportation officials on Sunday reopened Interstate 94 from Bismarck to Fargo. I-29 was reopened from Grand Forks in North Dakota to Watertown in South Dakota.<\/p>\n
In South Dakota, officials reopened a stretch of I-90 between Wall and Mitchell.<\/p>\n
The National Weather Service says Jamestown Saturday received 6 inches of snow, with .12 of an inch of moisture.\u00a0 Valley City recorded 7 and and a half inches of new snow.<\/p>\n
Several churches and other services were cancelled.<\/p>\n

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) \u2014 Snow buildup has caused a section of the roof to collapse at a Moorhead church, but no one was hurt.<\/p>\n
The collapse at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church was reported just after noon Sunday. Deputy Moorhead Fire Chief Benton Hicks tells KFGO Radio it was a “miracle” no one was hurt.<\/p>\n
Church services were canceled due to snow, and only two people were in the church. Both got out safely.<\/p>\n
The roof collapsed on the kitchen area, where coffee would have been served to church members.<\/p>\n
Hicks estimates a 50- to 75-foot length (15- to 23-meter length) of the church roof crashed “flat to the ground.” Firefighters had to shovel snow out of the center area of the church where the collapse occurred to close the doors.<\/p>\n
More than a dozen people working at a railroad service company in West Fargo, North Dakota escaped injury when the roof gave way under the weight of heavy snow.<\/p>\n
Firefighters shut off gas meters at RJ Corman Sunday and checked for gas leaks following the roof collapse. West Fargo Fire Chief Dan Fuller says the biggest issue following a roof collapse is the potential for an explosion. Fuller says heating and cooling units on similar buildings are usually on the roof.<\/p>\n
Also in West Fargo Sunday, a partial roof collapse at a trailer manufacturer touched off a fire when a gas line was sheared. Officials say the collapse caused significant damage to the offices at Trail King Industries. No one was in the building at the time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
