(AP) \u2014 A man accused in a fatal stabbing in Wahpeton is being held on $1 million bail.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kfgo.com\/news\/articles\/2019\/mar\/28\/murder-charge-filed-in-wahpeton-stabbing\/\">KFGO<\/a> reports the Richland County State&#8217;s Attorney has charged 37-year-old Adam Awender with one count of murder in the death of Billy Joe Phillips. The 37-year-old Phillips was stabbed in the chest and leg at his Wahpeton apartment while a woman was present.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says Awender claims the stabbing Monday was in self-defense.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Awender told investigators that he threw the knife in a trash bin and washed his clothes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WAHPETON, N.D.
