A potent storm system is expected to bring accumulating snow from
\nthe northern US Rockies to the western Great Lakes Tuesday night
\nthrough Friday. While the heaviest snowfall is expected across much
\nof South Dakota, far southern North Dakota has a potential of<\/strong>
\nreceiving 3 to 6 inches of snow<\/strong>. Most of the snowfall in North
\nDakota should accumulate from late Tuesday night through Wednesday

\nflooding and high water along small streams will continue across
\nmuch of south central North Dakota, from the Missouri River into
\nthe James River Valley. This includes the Beaver Creek tributaries

\nLaMoure and Dickey counties, as well as the Prairie Pothole region
\nof McIntosh county. The region is nearly out of snow, but it will

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi) Trucks hauling the hay to Nebraska\u00a0 left from the Walmart parking lot in Jamestown Sunday afternoon.\u00a0 The five trucks were headed to Omaha, with hay donated by farmers and ranchers, through Farm Rescue.<\/p>\n

27 year old Zachary David Kline, is charged with two felony counts of attempted gross sexual imposition, two felony counts of reckless endangerment, two felony counts of felonious restraint and one misdemeanor count of possession of a firearm in a liquor establishment, according to documents filed Friday, April 5, in Barnes County District Court.<\/div>\n

The victims told police that Kline came into the bar around closing time and ordered drinks, and then left for a few minutes. He came back inside, pointed a gun at them and told them to go into a back room and take off their clothes, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Kline told authorities he started drinking around 6 p.m. and remembers coming to the bar and ordering two shots, but had no memory of the incident, according to court records. Kline told police he doesn\u2019t carry a gun when he is drinking.<\/p>\n

Kline\u2019s bail is set at $25,000 cash-only or $250,000 bond. He is being held at Barnes County Jail<\/a> as of Friday afternoon, April 5.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 The James River Humane Society will restart the humane capturing of feral cats in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 board member Jay Nitchke said\u00a0once captured the cats are spayed or neutered, and given shots, and given to farm families to become barn cats while receiving food and shelter.<\/p>\n

Anyone in Jamestown that knows of a large feral cat population may call the shelter at 252-0747.<\/p>\n

On another topic, the James River Humane Society thanks those who turned out of the Annual Potato Bar Fundraiser, with dollars raised going to shelter operations.<\/p>\n

She pointed out that flea and tick season will start soon, and to have pets protected with various preventive items available.<\/p>\n

She added that the adoption fees have increased due to increased expenses incurred.<\/p>\n

Before an animal goes to their forever home, it\u2019s spayed or neutered and give inoculations and sent out in good health.<\/p>\n

KINDRED, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Firefighters used drone technology to help battle a house fire near Kindred.<\/p>\n

Officials say the Cass County Sheriff’s Office drone gave firefighters an aerial view of the fire which allowed them to attack the hot spots. KVRR<\/a> reports Kindred Fire Chief Rich Schock says the roof had collapsed and the walls were bulging making it unsafe for firefighters to enter Saturday.<\/p>\n

One person who was home at the time the fire broke out escaped without injury.<\/p>\n

TIOGA, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The North Dakota Highway Patrol says foggy conditions were present during two separate fatal crashes in Williams County.The latest happened shortly before midnight Sunday when the driver of a pickup truck missed a stop sign at Highways1804 and 21 near Tioga and struck a Jeep.<\/p>\n

A 16-year-old passenger in the Jeep, Alexis Meduna, of Williston, was killed. The Jeep’s 16-year-old male driver and the man behind the wheel of the pickup were injured and taken to Tioga Medical Center.<\/p>\n

Earlier Sunday, 37-year-old Jason Morgan, of Williston, was killed in a crash involving a van and a semitrailer in foggy conditions.<\/p>\n

The Highway Patrol says Morgan failed to stop at a red light on U.S. Highway 2 near Willison and crashed into the semi about 1:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Grand Forks police are investigating what appears to be a hit-and-run fatality.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to the scene about 5 a.m. Sunday and found a female who was pronounced dead while being transported to a hospital. Her name and age weren’t immediately released.<\/p>\n

Authorities say evidence at the scene indicates the person was struck by a vehicle. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Fire damaged a Bismarck landscaping business, but firefighters kept the flames from spreading to an area of the building with chemicals.<\/p>\n

Firefighters responded to Fertilawn shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday. Police blocked off a large area around the building out of concern that chemicals could catch fire. But the fire was contained to a shop area that contained only lawn mowers and tools.<\/p>\n

No one was at the business at the time and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately determined but is believed to be accidental.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A priest in the Catholic Diocese of Fargo has been placed on leave while police investigate his conduct with youth.<\/p>\n

Bishop John Folda says police informed him of some concerns regarding Father Wenceslaus Katanga’s interaction with a minor while ministering at Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo. Those concerns have not been made public.<\/p>\n

Katanga currently serves at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wishek, St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Zeeland and St. David’s Catholic Church in Ashley. Katanga has not been charged with any wrongdoing. He did not immediately return a call for comment.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s Republican-led House wants to force GOP Gov. Doug Burgum to take a salary.<\/p>\n

The first-term governor and wealthy former software executive ran on a campaign promise to forgo his salary due to tough spending decisions with a downturn in the state’s energy economy at the time.<\/p>\n

House and Senate negotiators two years ago compromised by attaching “legislative intent” to the budget bill that makes clear Burgum was expected to take his pay but the money cannot be spent for any other purpose if he doesn’t.<\/p>\n

House budget writers now want to go a step further and have included language in the governor’s budget bill that requires Burgum to take his salary and pay the taxes.<\/p>\n

It’s among several issues remaining as the Legislature nears the session home stretch.<\/p>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Officials are closing a bridge connecting Grand Forks, North Dakota, and East Grand Forks, Minnesota, in anticipation of Red River flooding.<\/p>\n

The Sorlie Bridge is to close at noon Monday, so crews can install closure mechanisms before water floods the road.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service says warming temperatures and rain will lead to widespread overland flooding and potential ice jams on streams and rivers in the Red River Valley early this week. A midweek cooldown could slow runoff.<\/p>\n

UNDATED (AP) \u2014\u00a0 Rhys Hoskins smacked a two-run homer and Zach Eflin scattered six hits over seven innings of the Phillies, 2-1 victory over the Twins. Eflin allowed a leadoff homer to Max Kepler and continued to trail 1-0 until Hoskins went deep off Jose Berrios (beh-REE’-ohs) in the sixth.<\/p>\n

The New York Yankees are starting to heat up despite having 11 players on the injured list.<\/p>\n

The Yankees banged out seven home runs and completed a three-game sweep with a 15-3 thrashing of the Orioles in Baltimore. The seven home runs are the most by the Yanks in a road game since May 30, 1961 at Fenway Park.<\/p>\n

Gary S\u00e1nchez went deep three times for the Bombers, who scored their first 18 runs of the series via the long ball. Clint Frazier homered twice for the Yankees, who also received round-trippers from Austin Romine and Gleyber (GLAY-bur) Torres.<\/p>\n

Aledmys (ah-LEHD’-mees) Diaz got his first hit as an Astro with a three-run homer in the first before driving in a fourth run with a bases-loaded walk.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Cleveland polished off a four-game sweep of the Blue Jays as Mike Clevinger struck out 10 and allowed one hit over five scoreless innings of the Indians’ 3-1 victory. Clevinger has struck out 22 without allowing a run in 12 innings over two starts this season, but he left Sunday’s game with back tightness.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Tyson Ross allowed a run and five hits with eight strikeouts over seven innings in his Comerica Park debut as the Tigers downed the Royals, 3-1. Rookie outfielder Christin Stewart following Saturday’s grand slam with two more RBIs to help Detroit complete a three-game sweep.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Mike Trout homered for the fourth straight game and Brian Goodwin also connected in the Angels’ third consecutive win, 7-2 against the Rangers. Play was stopped for five minutes in the fifth when a swarm of bees began flying around the bullpens in left center field.<\/p>\n

\u2014 The Red Sox completed a 3-8 road trip by getting a seventh-inning homer by Mitch Moreland to beat the Diamondbacks, 1-0. Boston carried a 6.97 ERA into the game before Hector Vel\u00e1zquez, combined with four relievers on a three-hitter.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Yandy Diaz homered on the game’s second pitch and Yonny Chirinos threw five scoreless innings as the Rays downed the Giants, 3-0. Rays reliever Adam Kolarek pitched a perfect sixth inning to protect a 2-0 lead, then had two different stints on the mound while also shuttling from first base in the seventh.<\/p>\n

\u2014 The Dodgers already have 24 home runs this season after Max Muncy belted a two-run shot and Cody Bellinger added a solo blast in a 12-6 thumping of the Rockies. Bellinger had three hits and scored four times as Los Angeles picked up its fifth straight win to move to 8-2.<\/p>\n

\u2014 The Brewers won for the seventh time in eight games as Christian Yelich (YEH’-lihch) homered and drove in three to lead a 4-2 victory over the Cubs. \u2014 The Braves pulled out a 4-3 win over the Marlins on Dansby Swanson’s game-ending single against a five-man infield in the bottom of the ninth. The winning rally was aided by a passed ball and a catcher’s interference call on Chad Wallach.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Anthony Rendon (rehn-DOHN’) belted a three-run homer and the Nationals were helped by 12 walks in a 12-9 win over the Mets. Kurt Suzuki also homered to back Max Scherzer, who picked up his first win in three starts despite allowing four runs and eight hits over 6 1\/3 innings.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Adam Wainwright tossed five-hit ball over six sharp innings as the Cardinals topped the Padres, 4-1 to avoid a three-game sweep. Paul DeJong (deh-YUHNG’) drove in a pair of runs with a fourth-inning double off Matt Strahm.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Pittsburgh’s 7-5 win over the Reds included a benches-clearing fracas in which Cincinnati outfielder Yasiel Puig (YAH’-see-ul pweeg) barreled into a bunch of Pirates. Braves place McCann on IL<\/p>\n

UNDATED (AP) \u2014 The Atlanta Braves have placed catcher Brian McCann on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain suffered during Saturday’s game to the Marlins.<\/p>\n

Alex Jackson was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett and made his major league debut by starting in Sunday’s game against Miami.<\/p>\n

Panthers, Sabres ditch head coaches<\/p>\n

UNDATED (AP) \u2014 The Florida Panthers and Buffalo Sabres will be interviewing potential head coaches.<\/p>\n

The Panthers fired Bob Boughner (BOOG’-nur) the day after the season finale, ending his two-year tenure with one year remaining on his contract. The Panthers didn’t make the postseason under Boughner and have missed the playoffs 16 times in the last 18 seasons.<\/p>\n

In Buffalo, the Sabres fired coach Phil Housley following two underperforming seasons and after the team extended its franchise-worst playoff drought to an eighth consecutive year. A 10-game winning streak left the Sabres 17-6-2, but they won just 16 of their final 55 games.<\/p>\n

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) \u2014 The Baylor Lady Bears fought off adversity before capturing their first NCAA women’s basketball championship in seven years.<\/p>\n

Baylor coughed up a 17-point lead and lost star forward Lauren Cox in an 82-81 victory over Notre Dame in the championship game at Tampa. Chloe Jackson provided the tiebreaking layup with 3.9 seconds left, but the Irish had a chance to force overtime until Arike Ogunbowale (ah-REE’-kay oh-goon boh-WAH’-lee) missed the first of two free throws. Ogunbowale hit a buzzer-beating jumper to give Notre Dame the title last year.<\/p>\n

Cox injured a knee late in the third quarter and didn’t return.<\/p>\n

Jackson finished with 26 points and Kalani Brown had 20 for Baylor. Ogunbowale led all scorers with 31 points.<\/p>\n

Kyle Busch passed his older brother, Kurt, on the final restart to win Sunday’s NASCAR race. The Busch Brothers were first in line not to pit for tires during the 11th caution to set up a final shootout between Bristol’s two winningest active drivers.<\/p>\n

It’s the eighth Bristol victory for Kyle, who prevented Kurt from getting his seventh on the .533-mile high-banked oval. Kurt Busch lamented lamented over the P.A. system that he should have wrecked his brother for the win.<\/p>\n

Joey Logano finished third, followed by Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin, Paul Menard and Clint Bowyer (BOY-ur).<\/p>\n

SAN ANTONIO (AP) \u2014 Corey Conners has become the first Monday qualifier since 2010 to win a PGA event.<\/p>\n

Conners claimed his first PGA Tour victory and earned an invite to the Masters by capturing the Valero Texas Open. He made three birdies in the final five holes, shooting a 6-under 66 for a 20-under total.<\/p>\n

Charley Hoffman finished second at 18 under, while Ryan Moore was another shot back. Moore closed with an 8-under 64, one off the course record.<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen has resigned amid President Donald Trump’s growing frustration and bitterness over the number of Central American families crossing the southern border.<\/p>\n

Trump announced on Sunday in a tweet that U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan would be taking over as acting head of the department. McAleenan is a longtime border official who is well-respected by members of Congress and within the administration. The decision to name a top immigration officer to the post reflects Trump’s priority for the sprawling department founded to combat terrorism following the Sept. 11 attacks.<\/p>\n

Ugandan police said Kim Endicott, from California, and her Ugandan driver were both safe, after the ordeal during which they were taken from Queen Elizabeth National Park across the border to Congo.<\/p>\n

Police said no ransom was paid, although the kidnappers had demanded $500,000 after grabbing Endicott and her driver on April 2.<\/p>\n
