Over<br \/>\nsoutheast North Dakota\u00a0 a substantial period of heavy snow.\u00a0 A potential of 6-10&#8243; in LaMoure and Dickey counties with 3-6&#8243; elsewhere in the northern James River valley. Total snow accumulations of <strong>5 to 7 inches for Stutsman County<\/strong>, with 7 to 14 inches for Logan, LaMoure, McIntosh and Dickey counties.\u00a0<strong> 6 to 12<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0inches expected Clay-Barnes-Cass-\u00a0Counties.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=Blowing snow\">Blowing snow<\/a> is also a concern as winds\u00a0 early Thursday morning,<br \/>\nbecoming 30 to 40 mph in the James River valley through Thursday<br \/>\nevening.<\/p>\n<p>In flooded areas,\u00a0 the high wind will remove wrning flags and signs,\u00a0 due to reduced visibility, making it difficult if not impossible to wee mud bogs, standing high water and holes in\u00a0 roadways.<\/p>\n<p>Even with relatively warmer surface temperatures, <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=visibility\">visibility<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=blizzard\">blizzard<\/a> conditions will still be a concern where heavy snowfall rates and strong winds coincide.<\/p>\n<p>A Winter Storm <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=Watch\">Warning\u00a0<\/a>was issued to address both <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=heavy snow\">heavy snow<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=blowing snow\">blowing snow<\/a> possibilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bismarck &#8211; The National Weather Service reports, Wednesday night, a potent mid level jet will intensify and eject over the southern high plains,\u00a0spreads over the James River valley counties into south-central North Dakota overnight Wednesday and through Thursday evening.
