News) &#8212; The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, a one vehicle rollover accident on Monday (Apr 15, 2013) about 9:15 p.m., injured a Poplar, Montana man.<\/p>\n<p>The report says a van operated by 49 year old Guy Bateman was westbound on I-94 about four miles west of Valley City, when the vehicle, with cruise control engaged at 65 mph slid on the ice and compacted snow. He over-corrected the skid, and the vehicle entered the median sideways, and overturned, coming to rest on the passenger side, facing south in the left lane on the eastbound travel lanes.<\/p>\n<p>Bateman was hospitalized in Valley City for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The report says he was wearing a seat belt.<\/p>\n<p>Assisting the NDHP were the Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Barnes County Ambulance Service, and Barnes County Crash and Rescue.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND\u00a0 (KCSi-T.V. News Apr 16, 2013)\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 The Jamestown High School LifeSmarts team will compete in the National Finals this Saturday through Tuesday in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>Team members are\u00a0 the same students who competed in the 2012 national finals\u2026.seniors Declan O\u2019Higgins, Kyle Gee and Mariah Schlenker, junior Zach Fossen and sophomore Kelsey Becker.<\/p>\n<p>The 2012 team finished in 12th place out of 32 teams.<\/p>\n<p>The 2013 team scored 356 points in the North Dakota final, the second highest total out of 39 teams competing in the national final.<\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania was first with 379 points.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Feb 12,2013) &#8212; Less than 60 days to &#8220;Rib Fest,&#8221; at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, on June 1, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Proceeds from the event will support Stutsman County Relay for Life, from Ave Maria Village, and vendors and those cooking ribs.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2 Lori Mettert with the Ave Maria Village, Activities Department said, the event will be from 11-am to 4-p.m., at Ave Maria Village.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Mettert pointed that the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Annual Rib Fest in 2012, raised over $9,300 for Relay for Life.<\/p>\n<p>She added that other Relay for Life teams may sell items other than ribs, to support their own team, while participating the Ave Maria Village event.<\/p>\n<p>Vendors and rib cookers may also donate all or a portion of their sales to Relay for Life, or designate a free will offering.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Mettert said they will have one ton of ribs available to cook, and will NOT run out of ribs this year.<\/p>\n<p>This year there will be two awards given out, the judged &#8220;Best Ribs,&#8221; and new this year is the &#8220;Peoples Choice,&#8221; Award, with voting on favorites, at &#8220;a buck-bone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She added the cost to purchase ribs is $5 per plate. Volunteers are needed to do the cooking. They along with concessionaires and vendors are welcome to get signed up now.<\/p>\n<p>Also at Rib Fest there will be the car, motorcycle, and tractor show, trophies will be awarded in various categories. No entry fee. PAUL, Minn. (KCSi-T.V. News Apr 16, 2013) \u2013<strong> <\/strong>The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will delay opening its camping facilities at Lake Ashtabula, near Valley City, N.D., until Friday, May 10, 2013weather permitting.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to delay the campground opening is due to the snowpack lingering into late April and no significant melting forecast for the next 10 days. The campgrounds were scheduled to open May 1, but the snowpack is preventing access to the majority of the camping facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Campgrounds impacted include East Ashtabula Crossing, West Ashtabula Crossing, Eggert\u2019s Landing and Mel Rieman Recreation Area. (AP) &#8211; Governor Jack Dalrymple has signed into law a measure that outlaws abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The law signed yesterday is another bill passed this session meant to challenge the U.S. Supreme Court&#8217;s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling. Dalrymple already has signed a law that bans abortions as early as six weeks, or when a fetal heartbeat is detected.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple has signed legislation to expand Medicaid to cover more uninsured residents of North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota&#8217;s Medicaid program now covers about 65,000 people a month. Dalrymple&#8217;s endorsement on Tuesday means an additional 20,000 people &#8211; mostly adults without children &#8211; would be added to the program.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Medicaid expansion is a component of the federal Affordable Care Act championed by President Barack Obama<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Legislature reluctantly voted last week to expand Medicaid. (AP) &#8211; An August trial has been scheduled for two Mandan men accused of failing to get help for a 30-year-old Bismarck man who later died from injuries sustained in a fight. The Bismarck Tribune reports that Christopher Vernon and Joseph Houle are slated to stand trial Aug. 19. They have pleaded not guilty to felony reckless endangerment in the October death of Derek Oshkeshequoam (awsh-KEESH-kuh-wahm).<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0HUDSON, Wis. (AP) &#8211; Jurors in western Wisconsin say a father had a mental defect but is still responsible for killing his three young daughters last July.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Aaron Schaffhausen pleaded guilty last month to three counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of 11-year-old Amara, 8-year-old Sophie and 5-year-old Cecilia. (AP) &#8211; The Department of Mineral Resources says North Dakota pumped a record number of barrels of oil daily in February.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Preliminary figures show the state produced an average of about 779,000 barrels per day in February.
