Ryan is the son of Ron and Kristi Abel.<\/p>\n<p>Abel, a right handed, 6\u20193&#8243; catcher comes from the Clackamas Community College in Ore. In the spring, Abel played in all 41 games for the Cougars and was named to the All Southern Division Team as a utility player.<\/p>\n<p>Currently Ryan is the starting catcher for the Portland Stars in the West Coast League, a collegiate summer wood bat league in Portland, Ore.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are very excited that Ryan has chosen to join the Jimmie family,&#8221; said Hager. &#8220;He is a talented catcher and a quality student- athlete, and we are looking forward to seeing the impact that he will make on our baseball program.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown College women\u2019s track and field coach, Jim Clark announces that Brittany Popp of Big Horn, Wyo. Has signed a Letter of Intent to enroll at Jamestown College and participate in track and field for the Jimmies. Brittany is the daughter of Mike Popp of Elko, Nev. and Jeannie Fox of Sheridan, Wyo.<\/p>\n<p>Popp is a 2012 graduate of Big Horn High School where she participated in basketball and volleyball as well as track and field.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Her individual events have been mostly the hurdles and short sprints, but she has run on many relay teams for Big Horn,&#8221; said Clark. &#8220;It is hard to say what Brittany\u2019s best events will be at Jamestown, but she seems willing to try anything. Brittany has Jimmie history behind her, as her Dad, Mike Popp, was a standout cornerback for the Jimmie football team. I look forward to meeting Brittany in a couple of weeks as she gets started at Jamestown College.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown College head men\u2019s baseball coach Tom Hager announces Christian Showalter of Moreno Valle, Calif., has signed a Letter of Intent to enroll at Jamestown College next year and play baseball for the Jimmies. Christian is the son of Skip and Joanna Showalter.<\/p>\n<p>Showalter graduated from Valley View High School where he played baseball and basketball. He is transferring from the College of the Desert.<\/p>\n<p>Showalter plans to major in criminal justice while attending Jamestown College.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown College head men\u2019s baseball coach Tom Hager announces David Cannella of Woodland Park, Colo.., has signed a Letter of Intent to enroll at Jamestown College next year and play baseball for the Jimmies.
