The 2019-2020 Renewal of Cabaret License for Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2192<\/p>\n

The 2019-2020 Renewal of Retail Tobacco Licenses for the following businesses: a. Brothers III<\/p>\n

  1. County Bottle Shop, Inc. dba The Liquor Locker<\/li>\n

      The City Commission approved \u00a0the Blocking off the Street Request for Valley City Chamber of Commerce on Central Avenue N and on 2nd Street N for Summer Nights on Central on July 11, 18 and 25, 2019.<\/p>\n

      Approved Blocking off the Street Request for On the Move for Let\u2019s Walk Valley City on Chautauqua Blvd from 6th Street NE to 12th Street NE on July 22, 2019<\/p>\n

      PUBLIC COMMENTS <\/strong><\/p>\n

      Attorney General\u2019s \u201cA Citizen\u2019s Guide to North Dakota Open Records & Open Meetings Laws\u201d *A member of the public does not have the right to speak to the governing body at an open meeting. The public is only entitled to see and hear what happens at a meeting, and to record or broadcast those observations. <\/em><\/p>\n

      No inflammatory language used during time that you have the platform<\/p>\n

      5 minute maximum or as directed by the chair<\/p>\n

      Thank you for participating in City Government.<\/p>\n

      Lloyd Nelson asked about the process of asking questions from the audience to the City Commission.<\/p>\n

      He questioned he previously being told to sit down, or having been removed from the Commission meeting.<\/p>\n

      Mayor Carlsrud said the city will prepare a written statement on the process for Nelson to review.<\/p>\n

      The Mayor added that this topic was not on this Commission agenda, and would then not be discussed.<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      A Public Hearing was held \u00a0for Transfer of Class B and Class C Alcoholic Beverage Licenses to Dakota Silver, LLC<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Following\u00a0 the Public Hearing the City Commission, approved the Transfer of Class B and Class C Alcoholic Beverage Licenses to Dakota Silver, LLC<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      RESOLUTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Approved a Resolution\u00a0 for the Replat of Lot 9, South Valley Addition.<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      NEW BUSINESS <\/strong><\/p>\n

      Approved was a Special Alcohol Event Permit for Valley City Eagles Aerie 2192 on Central Avenue for Summer Nights on Central Event on July 11, 18 and 25, 2019 City Auditor Richter<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Approved was Appointing Board Members for the following open positions, effective July 1, 2019. City Auditor Richter<\/p>\n

      \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

      Valley City Barnes County Library Board for 3 year term \u2013 Joseph DeMasi, Tim Kadrmas<\/p>\n

      Planning & Zoning Commission for 5 year term \u2013 Jim Wright<\/p>\n

      Renaissance Zone Board for 3 year term \u2013 Kristi Anderson, Jim Knutson, Anthony Kobbervig<\/p>\n

      Special Assessment Commission for 6 year term \u2013 Paul Dahlberg<\/p>\n

      Zoning Board of Adjustment (Variance) for 3 year term \u2013 Anthony Kobbervig, Mike Schell<\/p>\n

      Approved was the \u00a0Administration of City of Valley City\u2019s local sales, use and gross receipts taxes by State Tax Commissioner for 2019 \u2013 2021 biennium. City Auditor Richter recommended approval. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

      Approved was a recommendation from Visitors Committee for Image Enhancement Grant for Josh & Alison Kasowski, in an amount up to $1,000 for new business signage for Ibe Reality Group, and, in an amount up to $2,250 for renovation of exposed parapet wall.<\/p>\n

      CITY ADMINISTRATOR\u2019S REPORT <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

      No report was given.<\/span><\/p>\n

      CITY UPDATES & COMMISSION REPORTS <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

      City Auditor Richter said the budget sheets will be distributed to department heads, next week.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The next budget meeting will be July 22, 23, and 30.<\/span><\/p>\n

      City Fire Chief, Scott Magnuson reported on the intention house burning for the training of fire fighters.<\/p>\n

      The meeting was shown live on CSi 68 followed by replays.<\/p>\n
