{"id":175148,"date":"2019-07-08T11:00:14","date_gmt":"2019-07-08T16:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=175148"},"modified":"2019-07-09T18:37:15","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T23:37:15","slug":"planned-internet-outage-early-tues-july-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=175148","title":{"rendered":"Brief Internet Outage Early Tues work completed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Notice to CSi Internet Customers:\u00a0 \u00a0 The planned outage occurred Tuesday July 9 at 2:08am.\u00a0 Service was restored 15 minutes later at 2:23am (approx).\u00a0 \u00a0All service working normally.\u00a0 \u00a0Thank you for your patience.<\/p>\n<p>Previously announced:<\/p>\n<p>The carrier that brings the Internet connection to the CSi Network Operations Center has advised us that they have to relocate a main fiber cable in the Casselton, ND area.<\/p>\n<p>The planned service interruption:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>could last 15 &#8211; 45 minutes\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>will occur sometime between 12:01 am to 5:00 am <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>early morning Tuesday July 9, 2019<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As they do the work early Tuesday morning, July 9, you will not be able to do normal web surfing, streaming of video, or email. Your modem will look normal, you just won\u2019t be able to access the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>No need to call, no need to reboot your modem.\u00a0 \u00a0For most CSi Internet users, the service will have been restored before you wake for the day.\u00a0 \u00a0For night owls, please be patient, as we were told the project involves relocating a cable that has 144 fiber strands (that is 288 burns),\u00a0 and yes, they are using multiple splicing crews to speed the work. Our down-time will be when they are cutting and splicing the fibers that route traffic to our Network Operations.\u00a0 \u00a0This is a planned event, being done at a time when traffic is at its lowest.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you in advance for your understanding.
