News Aug 3, 2012) &#8212; The Groundbreaking Ceremony was held Friday (Aug 3, 2012) for the new 90- room Hampton Inn &amp; Suites, with construction underway, south of Grizzly\u2019s, in Southwest Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>On hand were the Jamestown franchise owners, Brian and Vibha Patel of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Brian says they purchased the land and Vibha adds, the price tag for construction is $7-million.<\/p>\n<p>Financing is through American Bank Center, of Dickinson, with representative Bruce Dolezal on hand for the groundbreaking.<\/p>\n<p>Puetz Corporation of Mitchell, South Dakota is the primary contractor. He said, completion of the hotel is expected by late April, early May 2013, sooner if the winter weather is mild.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s Marketing, Development Director, Jerry Claseman said, the Jamestown Hampton Inn &amp; Suites will have 90-units and features a two-story breakfast area, a swimming pool, with a children\u2019s play area, plus meeting rooms, and an exercise area.<\/p>\n<p>Hampton Inn &amp; Suites is the largest growing hotel chain, worldwide, according to Forbes Magazine.<\/p>\n<p>At the groundbreaking ceremony, Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen thanked the Patel\u2019s for investing in Jamestown, and pointed out the additional motel rooms and other features will help Jamestown to grow.<\/p>\n<p>It will also go toward Jamestown hosting sports tournaments in the future with more motel rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Buffalo City Tourism, Director, Nina Sneider said, it was the Hampton Inn &amp; Suites that provided tourism with a $16,000 grant a few years ago to refurbish the World\u2019s Largest Buffalo, in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The groundbreaking was hosted by the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Committee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MUNICH, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Fire has destroyed the grain elevator in the<br \/>\nnortheastern North Dakota town of Munich.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A passer-by spotted the fire at the Munich Elevator and Oil Co.<br \/>\nabout 3:30 p.m. Thursday, and firefighters from more than half a<br \/>\ndozen departments battled the blaze with the help of about a dozen<br \/>\nfarmers who brought in water trucks.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cause of the fire wasn&#8217;t immediately known, and a damage<br \/>\nestimate wasn&#8217;t immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FORT TOTTEN, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The father of two children who were<br \/>\nfound slain in their home on the Spirit Lake Nation reservation in<br \/>\nNorth Dakota last year has been released from custody.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Travis Dubois, of St. Michael, is not charged in the children&#8217;s<br \/>\ndeaths. He has been serving sentences for public intoxication and<br \/>\nreckless endangerment.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested on May 21, 2011, the day his 6-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter were found dead. Another man has been charged with killing the children.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Dubois was released from jail Monday after serving about half of his<br \/>\nsentence. Tribal prosecutor Joe Vetsch says Dubois must complete<br \/>\ninpatient alcohol counseling.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. The rest of the state, Zone 2, has no quota. Congress approved the cuts as part of a deal to reduce the deficit.<\/p>\n<p>They were designed to help lawmakers come up with a better plan.
