News May 6, 2013) &#8211; The Jamestown Public School Board, at the May 6 meeting, declined to \u201crenew\u201d (reconsider) its previous April 25 decision, which was to not hire Jeff Nold. (watch 20 minute video posted below)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/tkt_wlcn1uk?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The meeting had been moved to the gym to hold an anticipated\u00a0large crowd.\u00a0 After hearing from\u00a02\u00a0individuals of the public and a board member\u00a0asking the full Board to revisit\u00a0the matter, to reconsider the previous vote, \u00a0the motion to \u201crenew\u201d, the first step in reconsideration,\u00a0 failed, 4 to 5.<\/p>\n<p>Voting in favor of reconsidering the April 25 vote, (bringing the matter back for more discussion and\u00a0revote)\u00a0 were board members: Diane Hanson, Gail Martin, Heidi Larson, \u00a0and Greg Allen.\u00a0 (Hanson, Martin, and Allen supported hiring Nold in the April 25 vote).<\/p>\n<p>Opposed to reopening the matter were board members: \u00a0Roger Haut, Roy Musland,\u00a0Tanya Ostlie,\u00a0Shelly Jystad and Terry Anderson.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0motion to renew failed, closing off any further discussion at the meeting.\u00a0 The Board moved on to other business. News May 2, 2013) \u2013 The Jamestown School Board meeting on Monday, May 6,\u00a0at 5:15 pm, has been moved to the Middle School Gym located at 203 2<sup>nd<\/sup>Av SE, Jamestown.\u00a0\u00a0Superintendent Robert Toso says, he expects upwards of 200 people to attend the meeting. He said one of the first items on the agenda is to rescind the recent school board vote that denied hiring Jeff Nold, to a teaching position.\u00a0\u00a0 Watch video from April 25 meeting below:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/PMrfpRGRDSM?\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>At the April 25, 2013 meeting the school board, on a 5-3 vote, turned down hiring Jamestown High School Principal Bill Nold\u2019s son, Jeff for a business teacher position, after a contentious discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Nold is the son of Bill Nold, principal of Jamestown High School \u2014 where the position of business teacher now remains vacant.<\/p>\n<p>He said following rescinding the April 25th vote, school board is able to discuss again, hiring Jeff Nold, and then vote again on whether or not he should be hired.<\/p>\n<p>At the April 25ht meeting, voting in favor of hiring Jeff Nold were board members, Diane Hanson, Gail Martin and Greg Allen.<\/p>\n<p>Opposed were board members Roger Haut, Roy Musland, Roger Haut, Shelly Jystad and Terry Anderson.<\/p>\n<p>Board member Heidi Larson was not present during the vote.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, a group of community members has gathered 450 signatures on a petition asking the School Board to reconsider.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V.
