OMAHA, Neb.\u00a0 (uj.edu<\/a>) <\/strong>— An own goal by College of Saint Mary (Neb.) 22 seconds into overtime gave the University of Jamestown women’s soccer team a 2-1 victory Saturday morning.<\/p>\n Jamestown won its second straight match to remain unbeaten in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and are 3-4-0 this season. With the loss, the Flames fall to 3-3-0.<\/p>\n Both teams found the net in Saturday’s first half. Kristin Breaux<\/a> (JR\/Chino, Calif.) beat two defenders for an unassisted goal in the 15th minute, then Emilie Krupa tied the game with a 30th minute goal set up by Elli McMeekin.<\/p>\n In the second half, UJ had seven shots (four on target) and CSM 4 (three on target) but both goalkeepers kept the ball out of the net to force overtime.<\/p>\n Deisy Rodriguez<\/a> (JR\/Anaheim, Calif.) had six saves for Jamestown. Ryley Bedard<\/a> (SO\/Long Beach, Calif.) (2), Kamryn Fiscus<\/a> (FR\/Yakima, Wash.) (2), Penelope Hoppe<\/a> (SO\/Temecula, Calif.), and Breaux had the Jimmie shots on goal.<\/p>\n UJ’s\u00a0next match is at home on September 28 against Morningside (Iowa) at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Friday<\/p>\n GLENWOOD, Minn.\u00a0 (uj.edu<\/a>)\u00a0 —<\/strong>\u00a0The University of Jamestown men’s golf team won its second meet of the week, taking the top spot at the University of Minnesota-Morris Invite Friday at Minnewaska Golf Course.<\/p>\n UJ’s team score of 309 was five shots better than Fergus Falls. Martin Luther was third at 328 and Minnesota-Morris fourth at 390.<\/p>\n Austin Rene<\/a> (SR\/Jamestown, N.D.) was the top finisher for the Jimmie men, shooting a 2-over par 74, two shots behind Wyatt Blomseth of Fergus Falls for the individual top spot.<\/p>\n Tate Olson<\/a> (SO\/Cook, Minn.) was at 5-over 77 to finish third, Jackson Worner<\/a> (FR\/West Fargo, N.D.) 6-over 78 to finish in a tie for fourth, while Treyton Forsman<\/a> (SO\/Lewiston, Idaho) and Hudson Roling<\/a> (SO\/Thermopolis, Wyo.) tied for seventh at 8-over 80.<\/p>\n
