2nd Street SW near Historic Franklin School caused the loss of water service for the SW neighborhood Sunday.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Water began bubbling up through the pavement Sunday morning.\u00a0 The main was shutdown,\u00a0 utilities notified to locate lines, and an excavator uncovered the faulty\u00a0water main.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1842 alignleft\" title=\"waterbreak2\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak2-300x210.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak2-300x210.png 300w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak2-249x175.png 249w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak2.png 444w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The cross-over fitting that joined the 8&#8243; lines to the 6&#8243; lines had failed, and a 6 x 8&#8243; piece blew out.\u00a0\u00a0 A replacement part was found in Fargo, and driven to Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At 6pm the part was being installed, the line to be re-pressurized, and all connections inspected.\u00a0 Water service should resume by 8pm Sunday evening.\u00a0 The intersection\u00a0was blocked while work was being done and cars were routed to the\u00a01st Street bridge to cross the river to the Klaus Park area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1841\" title=\"waterbreak1\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak1-300x211.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak1-300x211.png 300w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak1-248x175.png 248w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/waterbreak1.png 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0csi photos by Roy Sheppard<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CSiNewsNOW &#8211;
