(AP) \u2014 American Crystal Sugar has already ended its fall sugar beet harvest in the Red River Valley.<\/p>\n<p>KFGO-AM <a href=\"https:\/\/kfgo.com\/news\/articles\/2019\/nov\/11\/crystal-sugar-ends-2019-beet-harvest\/956308\/\">reports<\/a> the Moorhead-based cooperative ended its harvest on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>American Crystal has not released the number of acres that were not harvested. The co-op has five processing plants in the Red River Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Melting water from an early snow last month has <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/2095fd525b524131812644d578650d07\">aggravated flooding<\/a> from heavy rains in September and October, leaving many sugar beets frozen into place.<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota environmental regulators want public input as they prepare to take greater control of emissions from oilfield facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Environmental Quality has scheduled a hearing Tuesday in Bismarck, the Bismarck Tribune <a href=\"https:\/\/bismarcktribune.com\/bakken\/state-weighs-changes-to-oilfield-emissions-rules\/article_47b2ac73-6d4b-5921-84b7-64bcd0311c09.html\">reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Legislature this year approved funding for the agency so that the state can administer the federal emissions program.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota already has rules in place to prevent emissions of natural gas extracted from oil wells from escaping into the atmosphere. There was no immediate information on the IS suspects.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey has over the past weeks criticized European nations for refusing to take back their nationals. It has vowed to send back IS militants \u2014 even if their citizenships have been revoked.<\/p>\n<p>Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has said that Turkey is not a hotel for IS militants and that Ankara would begin repatriating IS militants as of Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Soylu did not provide any numbers or say which countries they would be sent back to.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>HONG KONG (AP) \u2014 Hong Kong&#8217;s leader says her administration will &#8220;spare no effort&#8221; in bringing an end to anti-government protests that have wracked the city for more than five months.<\/p>\n<p>Carrie Lam spoke to reporters Monday during a day of spiraling violence that included the shooting by police of an unarmed protester and the setting on fire of a man during an argument over national identity.<\/p>\n<p>Lam said she did not want to go into details, but her comments are likely to fuel speculation that harsher legal and police measures may be in the works.<\/p>\n<p>Lam also said there would be no giving way to protesters&#8217; demands for political concessions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If there is still any wishful thinking that, by escalating violence, the Hong Kong SAR government will yield to pressure to satisfy the so-called political demands, I am making this statement clear and loud here: That will not happen,&#8221; Lam said, using the initials for Special Administrative Region, which describes the city&#8217;s status as a semi-autonomous Chinese territory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 A federal judge in Washington has dismissed a lawsuit from President Donald Trump against New York officials aimed at preventing the release of his tax returns.<\/p>\n<p>The judge ruled that the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., does not have jurisdiction to hear the case.<\/p>\n<p>Trump sued New York&#8217;s attorney general, tax commissioner and the House and Ways Means Committee in July. The suit sought an injunction to block the application of a New York state law that could allow the Democratic-controlled House to obtain the returns.<\/p>\n<p>New York officials had agreed to delay acting on a congressional request for Trump&#8217;s tax returns until there was a ruling on jurisdiction.
