Huber&#8217;s team-high 16 points was not enough though as the Vikings fell to No. 7 Dakota Wesleyan 93-66.<\/p>\n<p>Dakota Wesleyan improves to 5-2 overall. Valley City State falls to 2-4 on the season<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings shot 40 percent from the field (23-57), 11 percent on 3&#8217;s (2-18), and 82 percent on free throws (18-22). The Tigers shot 50 percent from the field (32-64), 35 percent on 3&#8217;s (9-26), and 91 percent on free throws (19-21).<\/p>\n<p>Valley City State kept it close early in the first quarter as the Vikings were within four points at 20-16, capped by a layup by <a id=\"rosterLink1\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/47\/2\/3096\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/47\/2\/3096\" data-original-title=\"\">Dani Schwanke<\/a>. The Tigers went on a 10-0 run to finish the first quarter as they held the lead 30-16. The 14-point lead from the first quarter was instrumental in the Dakota Wesleyan victory Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings and Tigers were evenly matched through the second quarter as Dakota Wesleyan narrowly outscored Valley City State 17-16, holding the 47-32 lead at halftime.<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings battled to outscore the Tigers 17-16 in the third quarter, including a perfect 7-for-7 on free throws. The Vikings would only get as close as 12 points with 8:09 left in the game as they couldn&#8217;t recover from the first quarter deficit, falling to the Tigers 93-66.<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings were led by <a id=\"rosterLink2\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/47\/2\/2935\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/47\/2\/2935\" data-original-title=\"\">Mackenzie Huber<\/a> who scored 16 points and tallied seven rebounds for the Vikings. <a id=\"rosterLink3\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/47\/2\/3103\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/47\/2\/3103\" data-original-title=\"\">Breanna Price<\/a> added 15 points while <a id=\"rosterLink4\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/47\/2\/3097\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/47\/2\/3097\" data-original-title=\"\">Maara Nelson<\/a> added 13 points, including a perfect 9-for-9 on free throws.<\/p>\n<p>Dakota Wesleyan was led by Kynedi Cheeseman who scored 30 points while Sarah Carr added 29 for the Tigers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UP NEXT: <\/strong>Valley City State travels to Minot State on Tuesday, Nov. 26 for an exhibition game against the Beavers.
