The Stars absorbed a 3-2 loss to the Wild as Zach Parise (pah-REE’-say) provided one of Minnesota\u2019s three shootout goals. Parise also tied the game by scoring on a power play with 2 \u00bd minutes left in regulation.<\/p>\n

UNDATED (AP) \u2014 The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without defenseman Brian Dumoulin (DOO’-muh-lihn) for at least eight weeks after he underwent left ankle surgery on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Dumoulin left Saturday night\u2019s 5-2 loss to St. Louis in the first period with what the team termed a lower-body injury. General manager Jim Rutherford said on Sunday that surgeons repaired lacerated tendons in Dumoulin\u2019s left ankle. Dumoulin has one goal and six assists in 23 games this season.<\/p>\n

The Crimson Tide lost to Auburn in a wild Iron Bowl on Saturday to give it two regular-season losses for the first time since 2010. The four-spot drop by Alabama broke a string of top-five appearances that began Nov. 8, 2015.<\/p>\n

Rutgers confirms Schiano return as coach<\/p>\n
UNDATED (AP) \u2014 Greg Schiano (shee-AH’-noh) is returning to Rutgers.<\/p>\n
Athletic director Pat Hobbs announced Sunday that the university and Schiano reached a contract agreement a week after talks to bring back the 53-year-old former coach fell apart.<\/p>\n
The contract still must be approved by the schools\u2019 board of governors. It is scheduled to meet Tuesday to discuss the hiring.<\/p>\n
Schiano was coach at Rutgers from 2001-11. The Scarlet Knights went to a bowl game in six of Schiano\u2019s final seven seasons.<\/p>\n

The government says it\u2019s the first time it has dedicated a commemorative coin to a living person.<\/p>\n
A 50 franc gold coin with Federer\u2019s image on it will be minted next year.<\/p>\n
The government says the 20-time Grand Slam champion is \u201cprobably Switzerland’s most successful individual sportsman, he is also the perfect ambassador for Switzerland.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cheads\u201d side of the coin shows Federer playing a one-handed backhand.<\/p>\n
The government says a limited edition of up to 95,000 Federer coins can be ordered, costing 30 Swiss francs. They will be dispatched in January.<\/p>\n

NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 A wave of new laws in 15 states that allow people to make claims of sexual abuse going back decades could bring a deluge of lawsuits against the Roman Catholic Church that could surpass anything seen so far in its clergy abuse crisis.<\/p>\n
Associated Press interviews with attorneys and clergy abuse watchdog groups found it could result in at least 5,000 new cases against the church and more than $4 billion in payouts.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a financial reckoning playing out in such Catholic strongholds as New York, California and New Jersey, among eight states that go the furthest with \u201clookback windows\u201d allowing sex abuse claims no matter how old.<\/p>\n
Catholic leaders worry about the difficulty of defending such old cases, and more dioceses are considering bankruptcy and victim compensation funds.<\/p>\n

The report is being made available for committee lawmakers to review ahead of a vote Tuesday to send it to the Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n
