{"id":187238,"date":"2019-12-14T21:50:56","date_gmt":"2019-12-15T03:50:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=187238"},"modified":"2019-12-15T14:11:47","modified_gmt":"2019-12-15T20:11:47","slug":"jimmie-hockey-defeated-by-minot-state-fri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=187238","title":{"rendered":"Jimmie Hockey swept by Minot State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday results at Minot:\u00a0 Minot State 4, Jamestown 1.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday game at Jamestown:\u00a0Minot State 2,\u00a0 Jamestown 0<\/p>\n<p>(uj.edu)\u00a0 The University of Jamestown hockey team had its 13-game winning streak snapped <strong>Friday night against Minot State University as the Beavers took a 4-1 victory in Minot.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saturday, the Beavers completed the sweep of the Jimmies with a 2-0 shutout at Wilson Arena.<\/p>\n<p>After a scoreless first period, Minot State scored twice in a span of 2:28 in the second to go ahead 2-0.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"rosterLink0\" class=\"rosterProfileLink   \" href=\"http:\/\/www.JimmieAthletics.com\/roster\/20\/33\/8949.php\">Cameron Todd<\/a> (SR\/Burraneer, Australia) scored his first of the season at 13:36 on assists by <a id=\"rosterLink1\" class=\"rosterProfileLink   \" href=\"http:\/\/www.JimmieAthletics.com\/roster\/20\/33\/8966.php\">Aidan Potas<\/a> (FR\/Fargo, N.D.) and <a id=\"rosterLink2\" class=\"rosterProfileLink   \" href=\"http:\/\/www.JimmieAthletics.com\/roster\/20\/33\/8944.php\">Jeremy McNeil<\/a> (SR\/Calgary, Alberta) to make it 2-1.<\/p>\n<p>The Beavers answered with a goal 46 seconds later to retake a two-goal lead.<\/p>\n<p>Minot State added another goal in the third period, taking a 4-1 lead with 6:20 left in the game.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"rosterLink3\" class=\"rosterProfileLink   \" href=\"http:\/\/www.JimmieAthletics.com\/roster\/20\/33\/8939.php\">Tyson Brouwer<\/a> (SR\/Lethbridge, Alberta) had 38 saves in goal for the Jimmies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On Saturday<\/strong>, the Jimmies and Beavers battled to a 0-0 tie after two periods before Minot State broke the stalemate with goals at 11:48 and 15:13 of the third, holding on for a 2-0 win.<\/p>\n<p>Shots were 37-30 in favor of Minot State, but Jamestown had several scoring chances turned away by goaltender Holden Kurtz.
