Highs in the lower 20s.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The National Weather Service reports that the blizzard over the weekend deposited 17 inches of snow on Jamestown.\u00a0 Up to 22 inches were reported south and southwest of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Blizzard conditions in parts of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota shut down interstates, led to hundreds of vehicle crashes and brought a metropolitan area of 200,000 to a standstill.<\/p>\n<p>Residents in the Fargo and Moorhead, Minnesota area who are used to snowstorms were told to stay home after a foot of heavy, wet snow made that fell on top of a sheet of ice made travel difficult and stoked early fears about spring flooding.<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning in northeastern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and Michigan&#8217;s Upper Peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (City Hall)\u00a0 Jamestown City crews\u00a0 began snow clearing operations at 4 a.m. on Monday and work through Tuesday, depending upon weather.<\/p>\n<p>At noontime Monday, crews have completed clearing emergency snow routes The crews move into transitioning to residential areas until 11-pm Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>Please move parked vehicles and garbage or recycling containers from streets to allow plows to move more easily through the streets.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-154479\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GarbageTruck-Jamestown-300x202.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GarbageTruck-Jamestown-300x202.jpg 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GarbageTruck-Jamestown-260x175.jpg 260w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GarbageTruck-Jamestown.jpg 445w\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" \/>No garbage or recycling collection Monday. Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday, weather permitting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City (CSi) Valley City street clearing on Monday is on Emergency Snow Routes, only. Vehicles parked on emergency routes will be towed. Residential snow clearing will start on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck\u00a0 (NDDOT)\u00a0 The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) along with the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) have <strong>OPENED <\/strong>eastbound I-94 from Jamestown to Fargo and have <strong>OPENED<\/strong> westbound I-94 from Fargo to Valley City, <strong>I-94 is open statewide for travel but motorists are encouraged to drive according to conditions as roadways may be snowy and icy from the recent storm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I-29 is completely opened<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also the No Travel Advisories\u00a0 have all been LIFTED.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>In Sports&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Due to weather and adverse travel conditions,\u00a0 t<span class=\"ng-binding\">he Hi-Liner Basketball games Monday evening in Devils Lake have been postponed.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"main\">\n<div class=\"column column-double column-last widget single\">\n<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>UJ Men\u2019s Bball vs Manitoba, Monday is Cancelled.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In world and national news&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>MONSEY, N.Y. (AP) \u2014 Authorities say they have found handwritten journals containing references to Jews and anti-Semitism in the home of a man charged with federal hate crimes in the stabbing of five people celebrating Hanukkah in a rabbi&#8217;s house north of New York City. Federal criminal charges were filed Monday. Grafton E. Thomas was expected to appear in federal court in White Plains to face five counts of obstructing the free exercise of religious beliefs by attempting to kill with a dangerous weapon and causing injuries. The attack occurred amid a series of violent attacks targeting Jews in the region. On Sunday, Thomas pleaded not guilty to five counts of attempted murder and one count of burglary.<\/p>\n<p>WHITE SETTLEMENT, Texas (AP) \u2014 A man who trained others in his Texas church to use firearms to protect the congregation fatally shot a gunman seconds after he opened fire during a service. Jack Wilson fired a single shot, quickly ending the attack that killed two people at the West Freeway Church of Christ in the Fort Worth-area town of White Settlement. More than 240 congregants were in the church at the time. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton identified Wilson on Monday. Paxton also hailed the state&#8217;s gun laws, which allow weapons in places of worship. The gunman has not been identified.<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit Ukraine this week, making his first trip to the country at the heart of President Donald Trump&#8217;s impeachment. The State Department says Ukraine will be the first stop on a five-nation tour of Europe and Central Asia that Pompeo will begin on Thursday as the Senate weighs options for a trial. Trump&#8217;s impeachment on charges of abuse of office and obstruction of Congress hinges on his policy toward Ukraine. Witnesses told House investigators that Trump wanted Ukraine to announce an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden&#8217;s son in return for releasing critical military aid to Ukraine. Trump denies doing anything wrong.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"column column-double column-last widget single\">\n<p>WARSAW, Poland (AP) \u2014 The U.S., German and Israeli ambassadors in Warsaw weighed in Monday against claims by Russian President Vladimir Putin that Poland bears part of the blame for the outbreak of World War II. The U.S. ambassador said: \u201cDear President Putin, Hitler and Stalin colluded to start WWII. That is a fact. Poland was a victim of this horrible conflict.\u201d She posted her message on Twitter Monday. Also German and Israeli ambassadors blamed the war&#8217;s outbreak on the German-Soviet pact. Polish analysts say Putin&#8217;s comments are designed to boost his position at home and weaken Poland&#8221;s international standing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (AP) \u2014 McDonald&#8217;s is disputing allegations that a Kansas police officer was handed a coffee with an expletive and the word \u201cpig\u201d written on it when he stopped there on his way to work. Junction City McDonald&#8217;s owner Dana Cook said in a written statement that the store has video showing it wasn\u2019t their employee.
