Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Fire Department was called about 2:10 Wednesday afternoon to St. John’s Lutheran Church on First Avenue South in Jamestown, where smoke was reported coming from the building.<\/p>\n
City Fire Lt. Sheldon Mohr says, a malfunction in the air handling unit in the lower level caused smoke throughout the church, which was extracted by the fire department.\u00a0 Damage was reported to the air handling unit.<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Three city fire units, and nine firefighters were on the scene 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

Jaeger says the party met the minimum of 7,000 qualified signatures to be represented on the ballot. Jaeger says the party will have a separate column for its candidates in the June 9 primary and will be allowed to place the names of presidential candidates in the Nov. 3 general election. State law requires a party to maintain a minimum of 5% of total votes cast to remain on the ballot.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A Denver company is proposing a 70-mile natural gas pipeline to a planned processing plant in western North Dakota. Officials say Outrigger Energy’s project brings to six the number of similar facilities planned to come online by the end of next year. Outrigger Energy says its pipeline would originate in Williams County and end at the plant proposed near Williston. The company says the project is pegged at \u201chundreds of millions of dollars\u201d but less than $1 billion. Exact locations for the processing plant and pipeline route are still being finalized and no permits have been filed.<\/p>\n OMAHA, Neb. (AP) \u2014 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers doesn’t expect to eliminate from its reservoir system all the leftover water from last year’s near record runoff that led to massive flooding along the Missouri River. Officials are raising the current releases in expectation of high spring runoff again this year. The Corps’ John Remus told the Omaha World-Herald the system needs to make as much space as possible in light of forecasts for warmer than normal weather and higher than normal runoff. Fromm threw for a career-high 2,860 yards this season with 24 touchdowns and just five interceptions, but he posted the lowest completion percentage and quarterback rating of his college career.<\/p>\n Wisconsin All-America center Tyler Biadasz says he will skip his senior season to go to the NFL. He was a unanimous All-America this season and won the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s top center.<\/p>\n Minnesota safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is skipping his final two years of eligibility to enter the NFL draft. He won Big Ten titles in 1987 and 1990 as coach and guided the school to seven bowls.<\/p>\n MLB-NEWS<\/p>\n Nats bringing back Cabrera<\/p>\n UNDATED (AP) \u2014 The Washington Nationals have finalized their one-year contracts with infielders Asdr\u00fabal (as-DROO\u2019-bul) Cabrera and Eric Thames (thaymz).<\/p>\n Cabrera is guaranteed $2.5 million this year with a chance to earn more in performance bonuses. The 34-year-old Cabrera was a big part of Washington’s surge to the World Series, hitting .323 with six homers and 40 RBIs in just 38 games.<\/p>\n Thames will make $4 million this year in a contract that includes a mutual option for 2021. The 33-year-old Thames had 25 homers and 61 RBIs with the Brewers last year.<\/p>\n In other MLB news:<\/p>\n \u2014 Indians president Chris Antonetti says he’s more confident All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor (lihn-DOHR\u2019) will be in Cleveland’s lineup to start the season after being shopped around this winter. Cleveland has him under contract through the 2021 season, but the Indians have been unsuccessful in their attempts to sign him to a long-term deal. Lindor batted. 284 with 32 home runs and 74 RBIs in 143 games last year.<\/p>\n \u2014 A person with knowledge of the deal says the Diamondbacks and reliever H\u00e9ctor Rond\u00f3n (rahn-DOHN\u2019) have agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract. Rond\u00f3n compiled a 3.71 ERA in 62 appearances for the Astros last year.<\/p>\n \u2014 A person familiar with the deal says Robinson Chirinos (chih-REE\u2019-nohs) and the Rangers are close to reuniting on a $6.5 million contract, pending a physical. Chirinos spent last season with the AL West-rival Astros, batting .238 with 17 home runs and 58 RBIs in 114 games.<\/p>\n \u2014 Brewers manager Craig Counsell has received a three-year contract extension through the 2023 season. Counsell just led the Brewers to consecutive postseason appearances for the second time in team history and first since 1981 and ’82. BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The wife of a man found fatally shot after a residential fire in Bismarck faces felony conspiracy charges in his death, and an arrest warrant for murder is out for a Canadian man in the case. Thirty-eight-year-old Nikki Entzel was charged Wednesday with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit arson and conspiracy to tamper with physical evidence. A judge set Entzel’s bail at $500,000. An arrest warrant was issued for 41-year-old Earl Howard of Belwood, Ontario. The body of 42-year-old Chad Entzel was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the bedroom of a Bismarck home last week.<\/p>\n\n
